Decided to sit out myself too, too pricey for standard pre order and sub model isn't even detailed yet. I'll wait for the hype to drop and get some better opinions after, and hopefully more affordable.

Do non of you feel slightly bummed with the price and the fact that they are pretty much for ing you to buy now to be able to get early access. From the outside this seems the OTT hyPe machine for a game which in beta has generally not sounded anything special.

Genuine question I'm not trying to take the piddle. I may still try this but it will be well after launch, have doubts about the game itself but can see launch week being a nasty mess.

Yeah, I'm not ordering it at £40 for the basic. And I'm not going to be crying about not playing it early either, I'll give it time for the price to get to a normal level and for others to playtest it ;)

And that CE is just a joke. I'm open mouthed at the amount of people willing to pay that for an MMORPG. Must admit I'm tempted to get one to re-sell in a year or so, but hey, that's the Del-boy in me ;)

Luckily, I have already had a months play, so not too bothered about the headstart. Figured I would get in early anyway though just to get my copy - I know I would eventually end up getting it anyway.

The prices are crazy though and the marketing hasn't been a great way to sell the game to the community.

Placed my preorder on Amazon at £29.91 last year, was woken up this morning to this lovely email:

Of course when I clicked the link it's now £40. Phoned up Amazon through and they've replaced the order for me at the original price. :D

Ordered the Collector's Edition.

I've played the beta and other than SWG PreCU and WoW (which i'm sick of now) this is the only other MMO I've enjoyed playing and I've played quite a few. Plus the Exclusive Collector's Edition Store sounds interesting depending on what's available.

I've had it pre-ordered at £29.91 since May 2010 :)

Though I put through another pre-order at £34.71 as soon as the pre-order email went out, just in case. Glad I did because I was treated to that same email a few hours later.

Looks like it might be worth giving them a ring tomorrow :) Just on principle ;)

£40-45 for standard and a whopping £130 for a collectors edition.

I didn't want to believe that Bioware had sold themselves out to EA and that EA's profiteering ethic had effected the development quality and business practices but that pricing is making me think otherwise.

I feel disappointed with this news and Bioware/EA, I was looking at a certain purchase for this but that pricing has
knocked my confidence in that and I could see myself waiting a few months to see what the state of the game is at that point.

Can't wait to see the Subscription pricing, I'd bet on £20 a month after this announcement.

Oh what a cynic i am

Lets get everybody on http://ocukswtor.proboards.com/index.cgi then we can all discuss the guild etc in one place.

You can vote in the polls on this site aswell for light side/dark side and pve/pvp etc.

I know everyone else is like "lets wait till release" but many other guilds have already created a guild on the official SWTOR website, I think its best to start getting people joined up early so we got big numbers on release.

Even if we had 100 people after first month or so we'll prob lose some of those numbers anyway for different reasons and it will prob grind down to 40+.

Could really see £10-12.

Let's all be honest here they are after one thing and one thing only and it certainly isn't offering a fantastic product and breaking new boundaries in the mmo genre.
