Think shopto are selling it for under £30 just now, or at least the email i didn't fully read said something like that :p

Maybe better to wait for 1.2 though since it has some quality of life changes for levelling (sprint at lvl1 for example).

Or maybe try the weekend pass.

You'll be fine if you're just starting, you can pick a populated server. The people having issues are ones unlucky enough to pick a server that has died.
 
I'm really not feeling very compelled to play, only just reached level 50 and the last few levels were a struggle as I was getting increasingly bored. And now that I'm level 50 the thought of pvping or running hardmodes endlessly in the never ending gear grind doesn't really incentivise me. It just doesn't really feel like an mmo, this certainly isn't helped by the low server population.
 
The guild I was in folded today :(

We were 10/10 normal ops and 9/10 hard mode (Soa down to 4%) but our server, Bao-Dur is dead as a dead thing and the game doesn't show any signs of improving. Not to mention buyourwares decision to put trialists above paying customers when deciding to take down servers on Fridays (of course the Americans don't get much inconvenience) and the general lack of a clue they seem to have in running an MMO and it means I'm back with no game to play and waiting on GW2.

Still, Vanguard is going ftp in the summer so unless SOE cocks that up, things are looking a bit brighter.
 
My guild folded the other week, but they finish the conent and all move onto the next date. I am not going to join them again because I am only a casual gamer and the power through everything :(

I really enjoy this game, but I stuck it out with the long ques and my server is ok. I understnad that they do need a merge like because at first I only had 1 character on frostclaw. The rest where on another but I have stopped playing them and concentrating on my main. I am looking forward to 1.2 I think it will make it better but I think the damage is already done for most players who are un-subbed.
 
This is keeping my attention, a lot better than other releases I have played. But each to their own like :D

Edit: How is the leveling 37 onwards, my brother says it goes rather quickly. But I fail to understand why it would be quicker. Just trying to get my main to 50 before the patch lol

Ok, so it's only a problem for people at level 50. To be honest, I've never managed to stick with an MMO long enough to reach max level - I get bored of the go here, kill 10 x's and come back - are the quests all the same in that respect?
 
So ive reached level 50 and have just started some Warzones for the first time, ive done hutball and Aldean so far.

I have decent FPS with hutball with only slight stuttering at times, but Alderan is very laggy and my frames drop to low 30s?

Is Alderan WZ known for poor performance, i was hoping i wasnt going to have WZs FPS problems after reading about tons of issues on the forums with high end machines with WZs, but it looks like i will have issues with WZs.

Im so disappointed, im going to give Rift another try tonight havent played in around 10 months, hopefully 1.2 might help performance with TOR with WZs.

Edit: Not how but i have a free trial with my my RIFT account that i used to play???

They are increasing performance in the next patch, and the large cannon on each turret fires less often to also help with FPS.
 
Being playing around with the UI customisation :) I like it

1.2 improves things somewhat, but not massively based on my time on the PTR with a AMD 6970.

Also as soon as you turn on the High-Res Textures again it chugs again.

At least they're trying though.
