Confirmed we've sold Tosic to CSKA, apparently we've made a profit on him as well!

Has to go down as one of Fergie's strangest ever signings, you get the feeling that he's never actually seen him play and was bought on the say so of someone else

He never looked likely to ever do anything, a strange signing indeed, It just seems he was signed as a random punt in case he was hiding some as yet unseen talent.

Along with Dong and Manucho, absolute wastes of transfers who were never going to make it in the first place.

Well if Robinho comes back to city and plays as he is now i wouldnt mind him back.......
Although i really would like to sign Mezut Ozil as he looks like a great player for the future.....
Starting XI next year:
Hart
Zabaleta Boateng Kompany Lescott/??
CDM: De Jong
LM:Johnson
RW:Robinho
CAM:Ozil
Tevez Adebayor

Same with Llajic or whatever his bloody name was, only signed to keep them from going to someone else :/

Well done Fergie, sold without even giving him a go. He scored for the reserves, he scored pre season, he scored on loan, what more can he do to get a chance?

Now our summer of reinforcement stands at 2 in, 2 out :(

We got the money back for Dong in shirt sales in China though :D

With a name like that, we could have made a killing in a different market altogether. :p

The same thing happened with Rossi, he looked the part but just wasn't given a first team opportunity to see what he was capable of.

Indeed, you have to wonder what goes through Fergie's mind sometimes, the number of chances Obertan or Gibson got last season yet he couldn't give Tosic a single start? Not even in all the cup games? Especially as left wing was a position we really struggled with for large portions of the season. It's pretty pathetic and it makes you wonder if it might put other youngsters off coming here.

He was too light weight, from what I heard he showed glimpses of brilliance in the reserves but when ever he came up against a well built defender he was knocked all over the place.

Not good if some of those defenders are only 17-18.

You could say that about a great deal of players he signs, he either lets them go to flourish elsewhere Pique, Forlan, Rossi etc etc after either mismanaging them or playing them out of position.
Or there are his completely random signings, Dong, Manucho, Tosic, Diouf, who either never see the light of day, get 5 minutes and never seen again or get loaned out and are never seen at all.
I mean much as Hernandez looks like he can move about a bit from what I've seen so far he just looks like every other random signing, he will be on the bench at the start of the season, get 5 minutes at the end of the first game and if he doesnt score a hat trick he will never be seen again.

exactly - no one here sees what goes on in training

If the club makes a profit, what is there to whinge about!!

Obertan had a good spell in the reserves at the end of the season, Tosic was always too light weight, sometimes the gambles just dont pay off (I mean look at the random signings of Benitez for example, Im sure even Wenger's mighty selection technique lets him down sometimes (or a scout does))

what about bloomin frenchy, whats he called you know the lanky one with little skill but some pace... no not bellion, the other one. i was there for his debut at OT, ill never forget the way he got the ball and ran straight off the pitch with it the first time he touched it. then got a 1v1 and i think miskicked the ball off the pitch from 6 yards out.

why did we play him? he was terrible, and yet despite bagging 5 goals in the last 10 matches or whatever in Coln, Tosic doesnt even get a chance?

im not going to say that fergie is a great mis manager. but he really does mis manage the majority of his squad and just focuses on one or two main stay players, leaving those on the fringe to suffer in the cold.

at least no sounds of selling Anderson yet im still sure he can be the next big thing.

LOL rumour is that Real Madrid will offer £80mill for Rooney and £30mill for Gerrard...according to SSN just now:p:D

Yaya Toure will be signing for Man City as well...pretty much confirmed now.

Yeah, here's another one.

There wa s young kid we bought who whilst showing some nice tricks did absolutely **** all on his debut and iirc, **** all for the several games that followed.

We sold him for 80 million last season, name escapes me.

Fergie, whilst being a great manager makes mistakes, you can't hold onto a player because "he might come good"

I'm glad you mention Anderson, if he doesn't improve this season would you keep him?

I ask because he's had 2 years to prove himself and looks no better than when he made his debut.

There comes a time when you need to cut your losses on players and move on, if you don't you end up like Liverpool constantly trying to prove your buys are "coming good"

yes if we sell him to someone i guarantee in 2 years from now we will regret it because he will become a truly class midfielder. he offers us something different in the middle to all our existing lot in a number of ways. left footed, can run past a man, bundles of energy, creative passer, gets back to defend. none of our current lot offer all of those qualities although they might beat him on individual ones of those qualities.

if we deploy him properly

yea but obertan isnt as young as ronaldo was, hasnt shown half the skill, trickery, or directness of ronaldo. ronaldo looked like an amazing prospect with his quick feet and willingness to run forward. obertan has shown nothing or at least very little of anything remotely similar.

I think at the end of the day you have to trust the manager to make the right decision. How many players has Fergie let go that have gone on to be super stars that didnt make it at Utd? I think Forlan is the only I can think of and I think thats more to the league he plays in is more suited to his play.
