Sergio Aguero heading to Chelsea

Atletico Madrid's Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has already agreed a £40 million summer transfer move to Chelsea, according to ESPNsoccernet sources.

A top Premier League manager told Soccernet of the transfer as Aguero lined up for his club in the Europa League semi-final against Liverpool and maintained that it was common knowledge within the game that the deal was on its way.

Yes I will keep posting this crap until it's officially confirmed or the transfer window is closed. :p

Benzema and Kaka have been insane flops, I can't believe people mention Robinho as a flop with Kaka at, 60 or 70mil euro's being a massively worse flop. If he wasn't handed penalties won by other people to save his embarassement he'd have almost no goals, few assists and be generally crap.

Benzema just doesn't link up with anyone in the team, not quite sure why, he's another one of those names that I always heard was fantastic but rarely if ever actually witnessed a good performance myself. Same for Kaka, everyone constantly harped on about how good he was but Brazil and Milan I barely saw him have a "world class" game.

I was going to ask which Diarra was being linked, I think both Diarra's might be seen as surplus to requirement, for some ridiculous reason. I think largely Real want to be as "spanish" as Barca are becoming, and Barca are also dropping non spanish players for younger and less good Spanish players. If the good Diarra is available I'd love him back at Arsenal, he's exactly who we need alongside Cesc but any top team would do well to get him.

Rumours have it that Lyon want Eduardo for £8m. I think that'd be an excellent sale. Slightly more than we originally paid for him and it's clear the poor lad needs to move on to resurrect his career.

Aye agreed, we should use some of the money we got from him the first time around (£5.5m + £however much the selling on clause was from Pompey to Real).

Absolutely!

Seriously though I think Dzeko is a better fit as to what we need, Wolfsberg aren't a great team yet he's managed to be the top scorer in Germany for two seasons running that's quite an achievement!

Hope you've got ~30 million spare then. Dzeko won't be cheap, contract ends in 2013 and Wolfsburg are very wealthy, they definitely don't need your dollars. Just as well Bosnia aren't in the World Cup otherwise his price would be even more inflated after that.

Kiessling is arguably the better target man, doubt he'll (ever?) leave the Bundesliga though. And his price is likely to double after a few World Cup goals.

Roberto Mancini has told sulking striker Carlos Tevez to find another club if he is not happy at Manchester City.

Tevez has been critical of Mancini's training sessions amid claims he will seek a move in the summer if City cannot finish fourth and guarantee Champions League football next season.

As well as attacking Mancini's methods, Tevez questioned the sacking of his predecessor Mark Hughes and gave the impression of a player disillusioned with life at City.

But far from placating his top goalscorer, Mancini said it would be better for City if Tevez - with 28 goals this season - left if he is not content with life at Eastlands.

Real Madrid are keen on signing £30million-rated Tevez, with Mancini unwilling to indulge his star striker's whims - despite him being City's player of the season.

"If a top player is not happy to stay here then it's better for him to go to another team," said Mancini.

"This is not just the case for Tevez, but for all players. The same goes for Tevez, for Emmanuel Adebayor, for me, for all.

"It's important that when a manager or player works in a team, he must be happy to work in this team. It's not good for the club, for the squad or the player if he's not.

"Tevez has four years left on his contract. For one player it's important to be happy when working in a team.

"If he's not happy, it's better to change squads, not just for Tevez but for every player."

Mancini has spoken to Tevez over the player's public criticism of him and pointed out the Argentina striker had only once had to take part in a double training session.

"I've spoken to Carlos," said Mancini. "I don't know if he has a problem but he works very well now. I spoke with him but what we said is private.

"I reminded him that only once has he had to train twice in one day.

"We've trained twice in the same day only four times in the five months I've been here.

"Two of those times Carlos was in Argentina and one time he didn't train. So I don't know why [he's unhappy].

"When I speak to a player I don't need an apology. I've played football myself, I know players very well and I know this situation."

I said at the start of the season that the gobby little Arge wouldn't be at City for long, figured it would be at least 2 years like he was at OT though

He really is unbelievable that Tevez...talk about showing your thanks to a team thats paying your silly wage demands etc.

Would love Tevez at Liverpool, not sure whether Benitez would be able to get the best out of him or not though. Although, remains to be seen whether that will matter..

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has dismissed reports that star duo Luka Modric and Gareth Bale will be leaving White Hart Lane in the close season, and revealed that Bale will be offered a new contract after a string of impressive displays.

Bale is reportedly a top transfer target for Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson but Redknapp insists he has no intention of selling any of Totenham's best players - and that includes Luka Modric who has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford this week.

Redknapp maintains that while Spurs have been tempted by big-money sales in the past, including flogging Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov to United, he is going to buck the trend.

"I do not want to sell Modric or Bale, no way, absolutely no way," Redknapp told Soccernet. "These young players are the future of the club and we should not be selling our best young players like Modric and Bale.

"If you do, where do you go from there? If you want to progress as a team and as a club you have no chance if you sell players like that.

"We are going places at Spurs, we are looking to build a new stadium, we have a new training ground; the club is looking to go forward."

Reports have suggested that United would be willing to pay up to £25 million for Modric and £20 million for Bale, but Redknapp said: "Modric is world class, I wouldn't be interested in selling him. Bale is just fantastic young player with such a great future, you would be mad to want to think about selling him.

"In fact, the club will be offering Bale a new contract, he has come on bundles in recent months and deserves it. He is an amazing talent, and a nice lad as well.

"But they are not the only young talents we have, just look at Lennon, what a player he is, and he has been training this week, he was involved last Saturday and we shall have to see if he is ready to start against Bolton on Saturday, he will have a big part to play in our run in for fourth place."

 Why cant Spurs just roll over like they have in the past

Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has revealed he may leave the German club at the end of the season.

The Bosnia international rose to prominence last season, helping Wolfsburg claim their first-ever Bundesliga title by firing 26 goals in 32 league games.

That put the club into this season's Champions League and after falling at the group stage, they went on to reach the Europa League quarter-finals, where they lost to eventual finalists Fulham.

However, Dzeko, who joined Wolfsburg in 2007, feels it may be time to move onto bigger things.

Although the 24-year-old has claimed another 20 league goals this season, the club's European exploits have hindered their Bundesliga form and they have missed out on securing European qualification for next term.

"That's very disappointing," Dzeko told the Wolfsburger Allgemeine newspaper.

"We were champions, then played in the Champions League and Europa League, and now nothing next season.

"My goal was always to play for a big club. I hope no-one will be angry with me in Wolfsburg because of that."

Dzeko has scored 10 goals in the last eight league games as Wolfsburg have battled to keep alive their Europa League hopes.

But successive defeats by Werder Bremen and Freiburg have left them 10 points adrift of fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund with two games remaining.

"I didn't want to think about a transfer in the past few months because that would have been unprofessional," he added.

"If I go, I will miss a lot of things. It wouldn't be easy, and if it happens, it will only be because it's better for my football future."

That's for the guy earlier who said they wouldn't sell

Can say what he likes, the players heads will turn if a big club come in for them.

Indeed, it's not always up to the manager in some cases.

I would prefer someone like Hazard over Modric though, I think he's a decent midfielder but not as good as the hype suggests, but we shall see :p

Bale could easily want to repay 'Arry's faith in him after the disasterous run of being on a non-winning side, and Modric could well prefer London anyway

that could be made easier from the player's point of view if/when Spurs get CL football (and therefore attract better players over the summer)

I would love both at Utd, but I cant see either arriving this summer - and I doubt for a few seasons if ever

I think Modric is too lightweight, and I dont think after half a decent season that any judgment calls can be made about the quality of Bale.

I can see how there is some interest in both of them, but i suspect a little too much is being read into some friendly comments in a match program rather than what the club actually needs, which is a combative Roy Keane type in the center before he looks at signing any other ball carriers.

really? I think Fletcher and if ever fit Hargreaves + if ever good Anderson cover us on winning the ball but we've lacked at finding an outlet/someone who can retain it so it's just a case of win it, give it straight back, win it, give it straight back in those circumstances you are going to be broken down eventually. Someone like Modric who can seemingly retain possession and find a way out under pressure strikes me as exactly what we need in midfield currently.

Anderson isnt a defensive midfielder, its why he sucks so much balls when he is aasked to play there.
Hargreaves hasnt played in nearly 2 seasons, nobody has any idea what player is going to emerge from that particular car crash.
As for fletcher, he is busy, and much improved, but he is no Micheal Essien, or Roy Keane, or Diarra, or Mascherano.

I had enough of watching average teams waltz through our midfield virtually unchallenged this year thanks very much, and I've had enough of watching the top teams brush us aside completely in the middle of the park.
