I don't rate Hangeland that highly either, think he's a little sluggish too, I think he'd get exposed at European level

Well he wasn't last season :p

He is good, but he needs a better centre back with him. The reason he looks so good is because of Hughes.

Touche, I meant CL (without sounding condescending :p). I think he's a very good defender anyway, just maybe not good enough for the very top level

Well the Hangelaand rumours can be put to bed. In his press-conference Hodgson said he assured Fulham that he wouldn't 'raid' their squad.

Yup saw that earlier, still can't trust what everyone says :p

If we kept Hangeland that'd be awesome, especially as we could possibly spend £15-25m on transfers if we wanted to. Hodgson has probably given Lewington the players he was looking at too. I imagine our budget is probably £10-15m+ the sales made, which recently has been the £5m from Bullard and the £10m+ for Smalling. Will we spend it all? Probably not :p

Edit:

From our 'squad' last season, we have released/sold/returned; Kallio, Nevland, Smalling, Shorey, Okaka and a few youngsters who made the bench in Uwezu, Buchtmann and Foderingham and then some other senior'ish players in Andranik and Wayne Brown. Jeez.

Ah good, have to say I am happy with that, theres not really anyone in the Fulham squad that I would want and I think the millions Fulham would have wanted for Hangeland can be better spent elsewhere

Also the reason the he didn't do the press conference, and Terry did.

I thought that had already been confirmed that it was decided before the world cup that several key members of the team would have a press conference each (thats why Terry wasnt the only other person to have a press conference)

Now there are rumours that RVP is attracting interest from Real Madrid. At this rate we will be debt free lol

£35m? Although I really rate him highly for the amount of injuries he gets that wouldnt be a bad price.

It would give DM something to moan about too ;)

Speaking of Madrid (with the Ferguson/Benzema rumour there), I'm surprised no-one has tried to tempt them into selling Higuaín. Despite the fact he's a fantastic player, the press really hated him last season didn't they? Because he wasn't one of the new galacticos.

Given how fickle spanish chairmen are, it's got to be worth a try.

hernandez ***!!!

u heard it here first:)

Noooo.... he's pretty bad, look i know he scored a hattrick but i could have gotten 2 of the 3 myself as they were virtual tap ins.

watch his earlier games he kept scuffing/missing easy chances. i dont think he is the holy grail.

but then ive never been a big fan of benzema either...but berbabob and rooneyflop might not propel us to glory next season and given fergies reluctance to try the new strikers he buys (kiko, manucho, diuf etc) i can forsee a torrid time for hernandez at UTD.

If we can get some club with more money than sense to give us £35 mil for a player (RVP) who has never played more than half a season, then we should bite their hand off!
Money for old rope as Geoffrey Boycott would say. And there has to be a striker you can find as a replacement for that kind of money... Wolfsburg want less for Dzeko, to name just one

Wolfsberg want £50 mill as far as I have heard.

well I was just going on the article nikebee copied from BBC

"Manchester City target Edin Dzeko has pleaded with his Wolfsburg boss Steve McClaren to let him go. The 24-year-old striker has a price tag of £32.5m which Wolfbsurg will not drop.

but of course, it's all nonsense and conjecture :D

If I was on the Arsenal board and someone offered £35m for Van Persie, he'd be gone. He's a class player on top form, but he's rarely on top form and he's rarely fit. His ass wouldn't even hit the door. :p
