Now there are rumours that RVP is attracting interest from Real Madrid. At this rate we will be debt free lol

£35m? Although I really rate him highly for the amount of injuries he gets that wouldnt be a bad price.

It would give DM something to moan about too ;)

I would never sell RVP. It showed last season how important he is to us. Sure he has his injuries but when he's fit we've got nobody else up front quite like him.

but when he's fit

the trouble is that's a massive caveat...
I couldn't agree more that he's different class to our other strikers, and on his day he's up there with Drogba/Rooney/Torres. He will get injured this season though, and miss a couple of months worth of games, and it will coincide with a period in which our challenge for the top places flags... it's been the same for the last few seasons sadly.

Yeh but £35mill for a player whos mostly injured is good business imo...id sell him for that much without a doubt....just shows how stupid Real is with money...knowing our luck if Wenger sells him to Real...he goes there and stays fit for the whole season:p

He's not mostly injured though. Compare his appearances with say someone like Drogba. RVP has 131 appearances, Drogba has 160 or so, we would consider Drogba to be vastly more dependable and less injury prone but the stats say that isn't necessarily true. We've also got other front men who've only recently come to fruition, we've got Bendtner who showed good form last season when we needed it, We've now got Chamakh who looks half decent, Arshavin when he wants to, Rosicky can bang them in, Nasri, Cesc of course. We should keep him, we don't need £35 million, we have plenty of money although considering we bought him for £2.7 million that would be some profit. :p

well 166-131 = 35 games, which is almost an entire season's more games across 6 years, which is quite a few...
But yes, you make a fair point, we will thankfully have more cover for him this season, and we won't have to play Arshavin as a CF again, heaven forbid...

well it was inevitable they'd get him... Great signing for them. dammit. I think they will have a real chance of pipping us to third next season. :( Not sure they can get in amongst Utd/Chelsea, but damn it's looking ominous for Liverpool, Spurs, Villa and Us.

I hope we go back to playing 4-4-2, it'll make things easier for us on the forwards front seeing as we have about 4 proper forwards in the first team and an abundance of midfielders. I want to see Chamakhattack a bit more though. I've only watched a couple of his Youtube clips and that isn't a good gauge of what he's like over 90 mins, he looks like a good header of the ball though with a good first touch.

I'm hoping that Mancini won't be able to get the new team to gel, if he does then the top 3 are in for some serious competition in the next few years.

Germany's World Cup star Mesut Ozil has hinted he could be ready to move to England this summer.

Ozil has been one of the stand-out players of the finals in South Africa so far, and his performances have seen him linked to other clubs.

The Werder Bremen midfielder, 21, insists he is concentrating on the World Cup, but he has also thought about his options for the future.

"The World Cup is all that matters at the moment," he is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"When I get back we can think about my future, but for now it's not something I want to give a lot of thought to. To the top players the Premier League is attractive.

"You look at what Manchester United and Chelsea have achieved over the last five years and you see it would be easy to be successful at two clubs like that.

"I see what Michael Ballack achieved at Chelsea and the quality of players he played with and the temptation becomes obvious.

"Trophies are what matters to me. There are two teams in England always at the top and of course that's attractive. But the same is true for La Liga.

"They're the strongest leagues in the world."

Fergie sign him up, Fergie Fergie sign him up :D

Speaking of Madrid (with the Ferguson/Benzema rumour there), I'm surprised no-one has tried to tempt them into selling Higuaín. Despite the fact he's a fantastic player, the press really hated him last season didn't they? Because he wasn't one of the new galacticos.

Given how fickle spanish chairmen are, it's got to be worth a try.

He's just signed a contract extension a few weeks ago and was outstanding for them last year. No way they'd let him leave

Noooo.... he's pretty bad, look i know he scored a hattrick but i could have gotten 2 of the 3 myself as they were virtual tap ins.

watch his earlier games he kept scuffing/missing easy chances. i dont think he is the holy grail.

29 goals in 39 games last season. Is all you do just close your eyes and type whatever comes? You're so much worse than dm, at least he watches football

Why do you insist on talking about players you know very little about or have hardly seen besides the odd game?! It's much better to watch a player for a while then give a balanced opinion!

He's unbelievably rounded and advanced for a 22 year old striker, especially considering the size of Real Madrid and their policies. For him to have forced his way into that side is nothing short of wonderful. He's literally laughing at a £30m player (Benzema)

Hehehe...you know that whatever Utd offer for Ozil , Man City will just offer £10 million more and £25,000 a week more :)

And then it'll be discovered that the quote about what Manchester United have achieved in the past five years was just a language problem - what he really meant to say was that he's always dreamed of playing for Manchester City... ;)

Same here:(...i really hope they dont gel at all and again miss out on CL football for the next few yrs.
