Are you implying that Masch is more likely to want to stay now that Hodgson has taken over but he's going to be sold to raise money?

If so then I don't think you could be more wrong; Masch is only still at Liverpool because of Benitez and had all but signed a new deal before Benitez left. Now with Masch only having 2 years left on his deal, and wanting to either join Benitez at Inter or go to Barca, we're in a position where we have little choice but to let him go.
As for Torres; although Benitez leaving wouldn't have helped, it's still very difficult for him to leave. He's still got 3 years on his deal (and I believe both parties have the option of extending that by a further year too) and we're going to demand massive money for him which possibly only City could afford. So unless he kicks up a fuss (which I can't see happening) it will be difficult for him to leave.
