Not sure its quite that. A club that boasts a large contingent of world cup winners, is universally accepted as the best team in the world, plays beautiful football and has the best player in the world in their midst. That sounds like a club that any player would be honored to be linked with. All the factors above help to persuade players to move to barca. All the above factors lead to barca not paying what players would be worth to another club.

If Cesc wanted to move but didnt know where then you could slap a nice price tag on him. If he wants to move to only one club then I think you have to realise that you are over a bit of a barrel and must make the best of the situation.

Take Villa for example. If you went round all of the top 10 clubs in europe and offered them Villa for the price barca paid you would have 10 clubs forking over £34 million odd that barce stumped up. He wanted to go to Barca so that lowered his price.

As for bowing down to their demands??...give Arsenal credit they havent bowed down to anyone least of all Barca...if they had then Fabregas would have gone for £30mill. Arsenal have stood firm in their valuation of Fabregas and until Barca pay up then nothing is happening ie Fabregas isnt going anywhere..but Arsenal are resigned to the fact that he will go at some point probably next season most likely unless we win the treble or quadruple.

I said expected to bow down to demands, not actually doing it. That doesn't change the fact that they have no respect for other clubs at all. Real Madrid, as you pointed out are just as bad.
 
Football clubs do this sort of thing all the time.

It's just that there are quite a few Barca players in the Spain squad and they want Cesc to join, can't blame them for having a laugh.

Arsenal would however, never, ever do anything like this beacuse they're a wonderful football club :)
 
I want to start an Ashley Cole Arsenal DNA campaign and offer Chelsea £6m for him 'cos they did nothing for him, everything he is can be attributed to Arsenal .. o wait

Since when have Barcelona had the job of telling their players they cant talk about players who play for other teams?

First and foremost the likes of Pique are Fabregas' friends and they're not saying anything that we dont know already i.e. Fabregas wants to go to Barcelona

1 of the papers this morning even said that Fabregas let it slip that he was proud to be an Arsenal player... WAS proud

Personally I'm loving what Barcelona are doing as it makes a change from Madrid being after one of our players :p

If your last sentence is supposed to be sarcasm then I'd like you to point out where we tapped players up to the extent that Barca have.

Its all fine and well saying that but seems to pass over some peoples heads in here.

And as much as an Arsenal fan i am..they arent exactly clean cut themselves.

Im finding it hilarious that people are getting worked up over Barca's tactics...one thing is for sure that its getting Arsenal fans all worked up into a seething frenzy:p

Anyhow let them carry on...its funny to see them do all these things but yet are no closer to getting Fabregas;)...thats what a lot of Arsenal fans keep forgetting...we have the upper hand.

I've never even heard of that story before, looks like it came from the states. Either way, IF that article has any truth, which I doubt, did we make things public? did we have players talking on and on about Agbonlahor et al? did we have our directors saying how much we want to sign then and how easily it will be to sign them? no.

This is actually nothing like what Barcelona have been doing with Fabregas. That article doesn't really have much credibility given the fact they keep calling Chelsea "Chelski" and Ashley Cole "Cashley". Sounds like something that a 12 year old knocked up in 2 minutes and seeing as I've not seen it anywhere reputable such as any of the daily rags I'd say it's probably bull****.

After re-reading the article it is CLEARLY a joke, just lol at this bit:

Well done Barca for going about things in a classy way. **** 'em, we've had to put up with the Catalans and Madrid throughout Wenger's era. Nothing new.

To be fair there isn't much fuss anymore, I do feel as though the worst of it was pre-WC, now it just seems to crop up when there's nothing to write about
 
lol @ people taking that article seriously! Do the same people not realise the Onion is a joke!? Do you realise Santa isn't real!?!? :D

I do have to admit though, I doubt that we acted in a wholly benevolent manner when David Dein was running our transfers....
 
Wenger was spotted at the World Cup, in a hotel talking to some agents :)

Didn't seem to impressed by what they were saying though tbh.
