I'm a bit concerned by how much of a **** he seems to be. Fergie would have to kick the crap out of him really. I mean can you imagine any United players wearing a City shirt?
 
If we continue down the path we're on our squad players will be our first team players! The owners seem intent on selling everyone regardless of whether we've got ready made replacements or not and Roy seems intent on signing players that belong in the Championship.
 
We've already sold our first choice left sided midfielder, we're in the process of selling our only left back after releasing the other, Mascherano's just waiting for a club to put an offer in for him and Lucas could follow him out the door.

These players will have to be replaced and Hodgson, if reports are to believed, has already been told the multimillion pound war chest he was promised doesn't actually exist so he'll have to sign free transfers :(

A lot of Liverpool supporters seem to think we'll be pushing for a European place simply because our season can't be any worse than last season but I think we'll be very lucky to finish in the top half the way things are going.
 
Ibrahimovic (sp?) from Barca anyone? dodgy rumours of his agent talking to Utd about him (same agent as Balotelli - so could have discussed either/both clients) in a £20m deal, after his reasonable stint in Spain - believe Spanish press gave him a hard time though - and with Villa arriving he probably wouldnt get anywhere near as many games

Nope, wouldn't want him anywhere near OT

He'd get the exact same stick that Berbatov gets now, plus he's very similar to Berba so cant see any team having the need for both

Let City have him, he seems like their kind of player

Dont remember anyone saying that on here. I do remember lots of people saying that he wouldnt get in the side but never that he would replace iniesta.

I am still unsure which way the Fabregas transfer will go. Wenger doesnt seem like he wants to even meet and Fabregas seemed very awkward when they placed that Barca shirt on him. Hopefully he will come out and say something soon.

Still waiting for Wenger to pick up a few more CB's. Anymore news?
 
Seems to be a lot of rumours that Cashley is off to Madrid, bad news for Chelsea if true especially given the other players they've lost this summer; Belletti, Ballack, Cole, Deco possibly Carvalho, they seem to be weakening themselves massively!
 
Iniesta wouldn't lose his place directly to Fabregas cos he rarely plays through the middle for Barca iirc, but I do remember people saying it pre-world cup bonanza.
 
I think the WC will have been a shock to the system for Fabregas. If he can't get into the team over Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets - who all play for Barcelona, then surely he'll be playing an impact role for them too.

He's too good for that, he needs to be playing all the time and that's what he has at Arsenal.

I hope he does stay. Not just because I am an Arsenal fan but because he is a great player to watch.

I cant wait until the "Real" football starts. The WC was nothing more than pre season friendlies in my eyes :p

When do the CL qualifiers start? What stage do Arsenal start playing in that?

Which is good I suppose since it doesn't mean right from the beginning of the season we're one or two matches behind everybody else.

*Who have ended up with a much higher quotient than teams that have been through qualifying before, or further in the UEFA Cup in recent years. Good old UEFA..
 
Scans have revealed Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has suffered a grade one rupture to a muscle in his left thigh.


Torres pulled up in the dying moments of Spain's World Cup final victory over Netherlands and, following a scan at the Cemtro de Madrid Clinic on Tuesday, a statement on the Spanish football federation website has now confirmed there is evidence of "a grade one muscle fibre rupture in the left thigh".
'Grade one' indicates the injury is the least severe rupture, but it is understood there is little prospect of Torres returning to action before the new season gets underway.
