I see Cesc as the natural successor to Xavi. Whether it happens this season, next season or the season after it will happen but the longer he waits the more chance he'll have of walking straight in to the team rather than being used rotationally while Xavi gets older.

Yeah i agree. We all accept that he will eventually go back but I still think he will be with us next year.

Then if we dont win anything he will then say, Ok thanks but I am off to win some trophies...

And if we do win something important like the league or CL then he will say I am off to new challenges...

Either way I can see him leaving next season.

but fabregas doesnt play anything like Xavi...

Scholes plays like Xavi, fabregas is more of a direct runner...?

Fabregas can do anything, he was outstanding as a deep lying play maker for a few years and is now outstanding as he's moved up the pitch

He wouldn't ride the bench as iniesta would play up front with messi and pedro, with Fabregas, Xabi and Buesquets in midfield. Don't know why aresnal fans are up in arms over Fabregas as he was stollen from barca first. Swings and round abouts really.

LOLworthy:p

If he does go to Barca this yr he WILL ride the bench unless Xavi or Iniesta get injured which is highly unlikely...plus im pretty sure Wenger has pointed that out to Fabregas that at least with Arsenal he gets first team football whereas with Barca he might get the odd game or 2 to start but nothing more.

So Xavi and Iniesta > Fibreglass?

Forgot Villa was Signed before the WC:rolleyes:
What is lol worthy is that you say that iniesta is unlikely to get injured, when he was
a doubt for many wc games with, shock horror an injury.
This guy, even though he never gets fouled according to DM, he dives, does recieve a fair share of kicks during games.

He'll actually win things at Barcelona, as well as being in a dressing room that speaks Spanish rather than French. :p

In Barcelona's eyes, absolutely no doubt, their partnership has been perfected over the years, no player could improve that pair as they currently work

Why do you just post stuff like that over and over?? Do you want people to argue with you or something

And as a pair they are just as good for Spain which is why I didn't understand the calls for Fabregas to start in the WC when Iniesta and Xavi were available.

I wanted all 3 on tbh, sacrifice a player like Alonso who was clearly on a different wavelength to the rest of the midfield, or scrap Torres. Fabregas makes a difference.

I was crying out for Xavi to let Fabregas take that free kick right on the edge of the box, but instead Xavi took it and blasted it over. Another chance in almost the same place a short while later, Xavi takes it, blasts it over the bar again...

Xavi wasn't having the best game at a few points in this WC and Fabregas was at least worth a punt instead of just giving him a cameo near the end of matches. Don't forget that if Cesc hadn't passed to Iniesta the game was likely to have gone to penalties. Not to mention on league performances Fabregas has outperformed Xavi and Iniesta combined.
