I never guaranteed it i said that we can definitely get top 4 with our team....eg its strong enough to get top 4 and above...

Your team is strong enough to compete for the title I reckon, I just dont think that it will. You need an absolutely exceptional manager to gel a squad that hasnt played together before. Changing half the team every transfer window just makes things tricky. City should have signed maybe 2-3 players max and they would maybe be in a better position now.

i thought the bookies odds were on UTD to sign Ozil, yet i dont even think we are close to agreeing a fee, let alone allowing City, barca, real to come in and swoop for 20mil or so?

Don't listen to betting sites they know nothing. They suspend betting on a different player each day, they're just as bad as the papers

Not sure whether to get my hopes up as a Liverpool fan or not. I don't mind us not getting Man City money, I'd just love for us not to be ridiculously in debt - perhaps even work started on a new stadium and maybe £25m to strengthen the squad.

The beeb are reporting that Ramires is due to have a medical tomorrow at Chelsea ahead of his £17 million move from Benfica.

Not sure what I make of that signing, will be interesting to see whether the Chelsea fans are pleased. He's quick and a good athlete, I just got the impression that he was one of the players that the Brazilian public resented having in the Brazil team under Dunga, but maybe I'm wrong...

I'm not even an Arsenal fan and the Barca players are getting on my bits with the 'let Cesc go' sound bites. I used to enjoy watching Madrid fail, hopefully it will be barca now.

Barcelona will move for Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta if their bid to sign Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas fails. (Daily Express)

Let me get this right, if they fail in signing a player that was an international bench player, they will try to sign a player who couldn't get near the team.

Lol, I like Al-Fayed. In Hughes' press interview he was asked about Hughes and he responded by 'He's a great guy....good looking as well' and then Hughes was asked about possible signings and signing a striker and responded saying he'll have to talk nicely to Al-Fayed about the money etc, and Al-Fayed handed him a £50 note :D.

BBC.co.uk

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres says he is "committed to the club and fans" and is "looking forward to working with new Reds manager Roy Hodgson".

There had been speculation linking Torres, 26, with a move from Anfield ever since the club failed to qualify for this season's Champions League.

"I am looking forward to the challenge ahead," Torres told the club's website.

"My commitment and loyalty to the club and to the fans is the same as it was on my first day when I signed."

About bloody time. :D :D :D

Decent player but never been that impressed by him, £17m seems extortionate for him

I thought he was very impressive at the WC

As things currently stand I'm really not that fussed about Chelsea next season, if they sign Ramires though that will change

Hope it doesn't happen :(

I think he would be a first class signing for all the top sides.

;)

Arteta is quality tbh, Everton won't sell him though.
This....Arteta on form is one of the best midfielders in the premier league and i reckon that if he had a few injury free seasons he would be in the spain team...maybe not so much now because hes what 28? but hes been very unfortunate with his injuries

I really hope Hughes gets someone from City, doubt they'd come cheap - is it true Ireland is rumoured at £12m?!

He could have a word with Fergie and get someone on loan too!
