I would drive Ireland there myself for 12m....

That's what I was thinking. I'd pay up to £10m or so for both, maybe a tad more depending what Bellamy is going to cost. But I imagine it's something between £3-6m for Bellamy and £4-10m for Ireland?

I really hope Hughes gets someone from City, doubt they'd come cheap - is it true Ireland is rumoured at £12m?!

He could have a word with Fergie and get someone on loan too!

Providing they get games a loan move to Fulham for Cleverly, Diouf or Welbeck would be great for them

Read earlier that Big Sam is hoping to get Diouf on loan, hope that happens, he looks a bit like Manucho at the moment :(

I'd really like Gibson, but Fergie likes him. Welbeck I don't really want.

Diouf is one of the players that takes time to settle I think, he still looks decent enough though - he links up well, it's just getting used to the pace of the game for him I think, he seems to get caught up with the ball. Cleverley is probably a suitable target, i'd love someone like Wilshere though.

Lol, I like Al-Fayed. In Hughes' press interview he was asked about Hughes and he responded by 'He's a great guy....good looking as well' and then Hughes was asked about possible signings and signing a striker and responded saying he'll have to talk nicely to Al-Fayed about the money etc, and Al-Fayed handed him a £50 note :D.

I can't find a video for it...sounds hilarious. :D

Welbeck IMO will be better than what you've already got, rumours have it he'll be joining Sunderland before the week is out though. Just hope he gets some games up there.

Not strictly speaking transfer news but just read a quite surprising stat;

Chelsea last season in all comps scored 56 goals from midfield 8 of which were scored by J.Cole and Ballack
Man Utd last season in all comps scored 47 goals from midfield

Probably wont dispel the myth that their midfield is all conquering and ours is the weakest in the league but hey ho

How many of those goals from midfield are penalties?

Milos Krasic's proposed move to Juventus looks to be back on after his agent claimed he has rejected a switch to Manchester City.

The 25-year-old Serbia winger has been linked with moves to a host of top European sides over the summer with Juventus and City believed to be leading the chase.

The CSKA Moscow winger held talks with Juve earlier in the summer but they soon broke down, opening the door for a potential move to Eastlands.

But his agent Dejan Joksimovic has revealed that talks are a back on with the Turin club and a move to Italy could now be imminent.

"There wasn't contact in recent weeks, but the situation is now good," he told Tuttosport.

"Krasic is looking forward to signing his contract with Juventus, he has been waiting for this moment all season.

"He has rejected the offer from Manchester City and has specifically asked CSKA to go to Juventus and he is being allowed.

"Juventus just need to resolve some issues related to the assignment of one or two players then they could buy Krasic."

Krasic played in all three of Serbia's World Cup games in the summer and was also linked with a move to Inter Milan.

But a move to Juve was always on the cards, with Joksimovic's partner Marko Naletilic adding: "We know the interest of Juventus in Krasic has never dropped and now CSKA have all the conditions to close the deal."

Refreshing to see a player not going just where the money is, especially given at this moment in time City you would think have a higher stock than Juventus

Juventus are one of the biggest clubs in the World, I can't see Man City ever getting anywhere near the prestige that Juventus enjoy, regardless of unlimited purse strings.

Whilst that's true since they got relegated they haven't been a force either domestically or in Europe. Still refreshing that a player turned down the money though

Juve are not in next year's Champions League either. Gotta wonder whether the offer from City was that good, or given a choice he opted out of the EPL. Perhaps with City's impending squad problems (home grown rule) he decided not to come.

Edit - is it just "Champions League"? In my eyes it should be "Champions' League" but seemingly news sources vary the name.

Regardless of unlimited purse strings? Do we not think that Real Madrid are possibly the most successful club side in Europe? Yet until they started to throw £50 notes around in the 1950s they too had little success. Just two league titles. If City can outbid the vast majority of those around them for years to come who's to say that in 60 years we won't be thinking of them in the same way? ;)

No offense to Liverpool fans but Torres lack of desire is surprising. Don't get me wrong he's absolute quality but how long does he want to keep winning nothing when he can play for any of the best 6-8 clubs in the world.

I can't see it being for longer than 12 months when he's back hopefully to full fitness.

I still don't think you discount the draw of Juventus personally.

Going to have to be cynical for a moment and say I disagree. That's a fan's rose tinted view of them, and unsurprisingly something the lad will no doubt say when he's unveiled in Italy. I reckon it's very much more to do with either a lesser offer (wages/fee) and City's bulging squad.

He's been told about our new super rich owners who make City's look like tramps :p

Oh and he can't play for any club he wants; he can only play for a club that can afford to make us an offer we'd accept and he's not likely to join City or Real :)

Take it from the horse's mouth it's the UEFA Champions League - no apostrophe in there. Personally I'd put one in if it was up to me as it is the League of Champions (possessive), however if the people who own the name and run it choose not to put one in then I'd respect that grammatical choice instead.
