are you honestly saying ronaldo is 10 times better than robhino?

higuain is 10 times better than tevez?

alonso is 10 times better than yaya toure?

casillas is 10 times better than hart?

if that was true then real madrid would have won the league and champions league last year?

Very close to winning the league last year. Unfortunately missed out with Barca 3 points clear. Much closer than City will come. And of course, your team can have as many stars as you want. Doesn't make them a good team.

Real Madrid have 10x the quality of Man City, in a much worse league, and despite common belief, defend well when needed. They don't practice all out attack.

They really really don't and they really can't defend for crap. Ramos, Arbaloa, Pepe, the left back they pushed into left wing because he was so incredibly bad defensively, about 3 other truly awful CB's, one half decent CB is about all they have in defence at the moment.

What they have is Diarra(lasa) and Alonso infront of them, shows how massively effective good defensive midfielders are in protecting a truly inept defence.

Even then Real were ripped apart by every great attacking side, they weren't anywhere near the same level as Barca. They most certainly aren't that far ahead of City, Raul's gone, Benzema isn't anywhere near as good as Tevez, not even as good as Ade who I think is pretty awful. They have Ronaldo, on a level only one other team in the world has a player who is on the same level as.

De Jong is better than Alonso, same as Diarra as a DM, half the other Real midfielders are incredibly average. Van Da Vart has 3 great games a year and 30 incredibly average ones, Gago, Guti, several others are so inconsistant and not brilliant when at their best, they are the equivilent of half the Man City midfielders. Bellamy/Robinho are a lot better than Kaka has been in the past year and better than all but Ronaldo in an attacking sense in RM's midfield.

I'd say the sides are pretty much a wash, both with excellent keepers, the difference is the Madrid side is far more established and consistant, but simply not good enough to beat a Barca type team.

Because Defensive Midfielders aren't part of the defensive side of a team...

Fact of the matter is that they ensure they have numbers back to deal with a counter attack.

I agree with Drunkenmaster...we have one of the best SQUADS in the world but just not one of the best TEAMS yet...which will take time and i hope that the players/manager get it, Madrids defence really isnt that good at defending but attacking they are good eg Ramos,Marcelo and they have one good/solid defender in Albiol

lol one good defender, you guys do crack me up. Madrid finished second in one of the toughest leagues with one good defender...of course. You really need to get some sense of perspective :D

Ronaldo is so so good in the league though, he just puts goals past the bad teams for fun, having that (almost) guaranteed 3 points against weaker teams is pretty handy.

Alonso is miles ahead of De Jong, lets just clear that up.

Real have a good defence :p second in the league 3 points behind Barca :D with one good defender?

Hart is world class? Giggidy. Also, I think Micah Richards might be the worst technical RB i've ever seen. He makes me feel talented.

Would he be starting for Man City if he wasn't built like a house? Sure hes got enthusiasm and a good leap but I don't see much else there really

man city arent my team.

if they had better full backs and a world class CB then they would be serious contenders, until that they are going to keep falling apart at the back.

the la liga is a 2 horse race. for real madrid to come 2nd or close to coming first isnt exactly what i would call a surprise.
