I'm sorry but I don't agree with Ireland apparently not showing heart. Every time I've watched him he's ran the entire game non stop and been sweating buckets, I've never seen him just stroll about or stand still doing nothing. It just seems that City think that by throwing money at everything they will soon stumble upon success, and for that I would like to wish you congratulations on your shiny new Carling Cup this year. :)

What has him being an established player have to do with anything...ok not the best comparison but i meant a foreign player coming to a unknown country...and we havent chucked money around at all we have had to overspend on players to improve our team and Chelsea were a pretty established top 4 team and had a good team before takeover and we didnt really and we were an established 10-15 team so we need to overspend to get a trophy or two so we can sign the top players.

You might want to watch more games from seasons after 2008-09...and thanks its better than nothing :)

Chelsea were just a cup team before Abramovich came along. The difference is they spent wisely, apart from one of two flops (hello Shevchenko) and they actually had good managers. You will win nothing under Mancini, and you don't need to know much about football to figure that one out. Great pre season btw. :D

Well there is a difference bringing in a young player from over sea's who hasn't done much in the game and buying a player who's just come off the back of a World Cup winning international season, and has a very high reputation across Europe.

For the money you paid for him, while every big money move is will/won't (in regards to adapt to the physicality of the English game) I don't think Killswitch is far off the mark saying he's not set the World alight.

You've thrown money at players hoping they'd help you reach the next level, when in fact it wasn't the "big money" players that have helped you. imho, Bellamy was your best player last season, Robinho flopped and some of the other signings you've made?

Lescott? Ade? et al? And this season, replacing a good young player in Ireland with someone who's imho, not as talented was a really silly move.

imho, Toure, Tevez, Silva, Balotelli are the only "good" signings City have made so far under all this money.

btw, you were the person mentioning that Ronaldo didn't do much in his first 3 games either, but nobody was expecting him to.

People are expecting Silva to come in and do things, comes with a) the money involved b) he's an established player.

Daft comment/comparison.

I dont agree with that and who did they spend wisely on that we havent?
And yeh that makes a huge difference? Chelsea for example.
and we have signed more good players than what you have listed...
and i dont expect him too and i dont know anyone who does...and i said earlier it wasnt the correct comparison he was just the first person i thought of/

I agree entirely, and now they have a bunch of unhappy players who last year were first choice every game and treated as pampered little stars, whereas this year those same players are now sat on the bench rotting. Mancini has bought the wrong players. Where's the world class in your defence for a start? Surely you build from the back? Mancini hasn't got a ****ing clue, the amount of money you have, it's virtually limitless and look at the purchases? He's playing fantasy football I'm surprised he hasn't just fielded 11 strikers, although I guess Mancini is too busy hoarding all the defensive midfielders together.

Barring the players who are playing for the clubs they supported as kids, Ronaldo, Messi etc you have the pick of anyone in the world who you are willing to pay for, I just think Mancini could have done a lot better and after not winning a pre-season game and having a disasterous start based on the amount of money you've spent I'd say Mancini will be out by January at this rate.

The point is that Chelsea had players they could build a team around, Lampard, Terry etc, City had nobody and they still have nobody, who's the team built around?

I disagree, Pre season's are more about fitness, but it must be a bit "meh" if you're the manager and you're losing pre season.

Chelsea spent money wisely, they in the first two years of the Russia Mafia imho, spent far better in terms of who they bought in.

Why do you have such a problem with us? its getting boring now, well seeing as you think we made bad buys give me a few players we should have signed.
We did win a pre season game we won a few actually? and how is it a disastrous start considering we played Spurs away, demolished Liverpool and lost in the 94th min to Sunderland who lost 3 games last season at home..
and im pretty sure he wont be gone as there is no one available to come in

Yes I suppose so, but there is always that air of expetancy when you've just spent obscene amounts. I wouldn't have a problem if the City fans just kept their traps shut, but as soon as they win a game they all start going on, only to be let down a week later by crap team selection or crap tactics. They're starting to get pretty arrogant and I have to say that the idea of City fans thinking it's possible for them to get Torres... what land do they live in?

City have just paid over the top for on the whole, very average players.

Lescott? Milner? Barry? Santa? Toure? (Arsenal one) Ade? Viera? Average at best imho.

Tevez / Toure / Balotelli / Silva = much better, but still thought they cost lots :p

Letting Ireland go, imho, a mistake.

WE CANT ATTRACT TOP PLAYERS!!!!!
so we have to sign 'average' players...so you dont count Boateng/Kolarov/Kompany/Given good signings?
Letting Ireland go is the best thing for both parties...he doesnt want to play for the club as seen in his performances and comments since leaving so why keep him? Bellamy attacked Mancini pretty much and Mancini has his principles so what can you do and Given was good last season but also arguably cost us games plus wasnt Hart keeper of the year last year? should we stick him on the bench and see one of Englands biggest talents rot and then be blamed for footballs decline despite playing 6 english players last week all of which are in the England team and in Hart/Johnson/Richards case there all the future of Englands team arguably.

Apart from Given I'd say they are all average. We'll just have to see how things go in the league but if Mancini gets sacked I won't be surprised, he's not the man for the job.

As for Killswitch's problem, I'm going to guess it's the same as mine and other people's.

Club, with little history or pedigree, coming in to lots of money, buying or trying to buy success and history, fans turning in to arrogant fools and adopting an attitude that they have some right to be winning things? Money might get you mercenaries but that's about it :) for a good number of years anyway.

Nobody has a right to win things, which I suppose was people's problem with United fans.

So utd havent bought average players this year? arsenal have bought top players this year?
Who is the man then?
and Tummy it isnt our fault? so your saying that the owners shouldnt have bought anyone? not invested millions in infrastructure? and i dont think we have the right but im sick of people saying that we cant/wont...

Given was a pointless signing, lots of money for him to have one good season and then become a number two? More money then sense.

Boateng / Kolarov / Kompany - average, imho.

Ireland had a good season, they found himself struggling to get in to the side (I thought he was one of their best midfielders and this bemused me), I'd be annoyed at the deal if I were a city fan, milner - average, weight of expectation, where as Ireland was already a part of the set up and rather good.

Bellamy? Best player last season, gave 110% every game and would run through walls on the pitch for who ever he plays for. Attack?

I thought he was asked what if he'd do if he didn't get in the 25 man squad, he said he'd look to move or retire, then when he was set to go to Cardiff he pointed out the flaws in Mancini?

Don't see this as an attack, just an ex player letting off some steam, Ireland did a similar thing.

Regardless of 'attracting' top players, I think Man City have done badly in the transfer window.

I mean, there are PLENTY of players who would have played for them who are decent compared to the riff raff they've paid 200M for (some minor exceptions of course).

I don't think Mancini will last that long to be honest either.

isn't who's fault?

Keep your feet on the ground and head out of the clouds and you'd probably get a bit more respect.

I've not said the owners shouldn't of spent money, please point out where I have done?

I've said that I don't think (other then a few signings) City have done that well in bringing players in.

How was he pointless? we would have finished 10th if we didnt have him and Hart wasnt ready....
Not one City fan will be annoyed trust me,
I didnt say Bellamy wasnt but not adapting to Mancini, leading revolts against Mancini etc before he left.
Ok seeing as we have signed average players someone please tell me some players who are better we could have signed?
It isnt our fault we got taken over
I am grounded trust me
You didnt but you were suggesting that the owners bought the team 'with little history or pedigree, coming in to lots of money, buying or trying to buy success and history' then trying to buy players etc seems to me like your saying its bad they did sign players
