What?

Every team in the league has injuries to deal with.

Which is true but when most of your main/major players are out for the season when the season is coming to an end...and your within a shout of the title...then i would say our injuries ruined our title run in...i mean FFS would you want Silvestre to start in defence??...would you want a Flappy handed goalkeeper keeping goal??...of course not and i dont think anyone else would want that sort of defence which instills no confidence in the side.

What?

Every team in the league has injuries to deal with.

To the extent of having their equivalants of Gallas, Fabregas, Song, RvP and Arshavin out at the same time? Then Vermaelan and other smaller injuries?

Not making excuses here, I still don't think we'd have won the PL. It was pretty extreme though.

Many people forget the start of Man Utd's season...they didn't have enough defenders for quite a few of the early games.

Which is true but i think with Utd, the depth you had pulled you through...geez imagine if you lost rooney for 5mths of the season and had to rely on Berbaflop??...you wouldnt have been anywhere close to winning the title:p

I think struggling for a top four finish if that had happened. City would have been the top Manchester team :D

Come up with a better excuse then we had players injured, happens to every team :)

No excuses needed, we weren't good enough for whatever it is you want an excuse for. ;)

You can't deny the extremity of the injuries though. Look at Chelsea for example. They had what, pretty much everyone fit for the last 10 games of the season with the exception of Essien?

Spanish league is looking to get worse and worse, it's turning into the flamboyant version of the Scottish league. Complete 2-horse race and the other teams are just getting woeful and completely strapped for cash. Now that Villa has gone it just makes it worse.......sigh :(

Arsenal had literally their best 6 players out for the end of the season, Chelsea had Essien and Man Utd missed Rooney for a few games

Well, Valencia have €40mil now! \o/

We did very well to be in with a shout of winning the league on 2 seperate occasions this season, we just weren't ruthless enough in the games that mattered. Whatever some of the people in this thread have said, it isn't the games against the big 4 that are massively important, and if we'd have managed to beat the lower teams in our last 8 games then we would have mathematically been able to win the league.

One thing I would ask is that how many times did Utd get very late goals approaching the end of regular time and how many times did they score in added time to win the game?

hehe I think the Premier League's boasts about being the best league in the world are having to be revised to 'The most competitive league in the world'....
The money situation in Spain at the moment is absolutely risible. But don't expect Blatter or Platini to be making the same kind of derogatory comments about it, that they would if that was the case here. They'll let it slide, the imbeciles.

Well Chelski were pretty much covered...they only lost Essien for the season...other than them City didnt have any major injuries....Utd had a few defenders out at the start but had the depth to pull through mainly because they didnt have to rely on Silvestre or a shoddy goalkeeper who has no clue on how to catch a ball etc etc.

So other than our injuries which decimated most of our lineup...the only other excuse i can come up with we didnt kill off teams that we should ie Wigan and Blackburn for a start.

They had to sell him anyways as they are on the verge of bankruptcy from what i read a few mths ago...it was a done deal that Villa would go to Barca in the end...much like Fabregas...it was just a case of when really.

Four different clubs have won La Liga in the last 10 years, compared to 3 in the PL. 3 seasons ago Villarreal finished 2nd, and 4 seasons ago Sevilla finished 5 points behind joint table toppers.

Rooney story=nonsense.

Torres to Barca=nonsense(small chance of it happening if Villa didn't sign)

Fabregas: Did Fab and Wenger have face to face talks with media present? I watch 30s of SSN last night and the guy that was on was describing, in great detail, a meeting between them! We know the guy wants to go there at some point, we know Barca want him, but we don't know if it will be this summer, or next. I would imagine that the rags are making crap up as they know there is a decent chance that it might turn out to be true!
