I would like to get rid of it, but cash is a bit tight at present to fund a replacement. Vcore wise, im needing 1.320 in bios to be both ibt/prime stable and whea error free.

As a last resort before a windows reinstall, ive uninstalled service pack 1 and redownloading it. I think there may be a possibility that some updates may have been corrupted during installation. Weve been having a lot of issues the last week or two with power cuts here following a transformer blowing up. On a few of theese cuts ive had the system downloading/installing updates.

Meh I will just flash the BIOS on both 680 cards. Yes I have considered another 680 but not before a 1000w platinum XFX unit :-)

Plus VirtuMVP does not work well with SLI, not well at all.

What do you have atm? You don't need a 1000w platinum mate, trust me. I'm using an 850w silver and I know it'sstill got pplenty to give.

Hope that helps setter mate!

Aye but I love XFX I know they lost a good amount of time and I am wanting to keep hold of it; I know power demands are going down but it's more to do with power efficiency than anything else. Even if you are drawing less whats you are also losing less overall with a platinum psu and I may be planning some kind of quad-sli setup in the near future.

** EDIT : and then I'd be underestimating with 1000 watts for quad-sli lol best get the 1250 ***

Hope that helps setter mate!
And indeed it has.:D

Can only summise that it was a dodgy install of sp1. Above was a stock speed run. Temps a bit high, but fans were on the standard profile setting which keeps them pretty slow.

my final score, dont think ill be trying to improve anymore so might aswell post it:(

Now it's time for the weekend I am going to go crazy on overclocking this evening as I'll have plenty of free time to myself. Got home from work and had a massive power nap and I've got itchy overclocking fingers after seeing two guys grab the 5300Mhz mark I need to pass it :P

Be carefull how much CPU v your using,I've seen one user kill his chip with 1.9v

Having faster/well timed memory well certainly help

Great score wazza, well done. Btw, what cooler are you using on that chip, and what sort of temps does it hit in 32m. Off course this bench doesnt heat the cpu up just quite as much as ibt/p95. But interested to hear what your using.

1.9 volts is frikkin' LN2 time I won't be touching that level of overclocking no way. The memory plays ball nicely at 2200Mhz will have to see what timings I can pull out.

Is that the silver arrow sbe extreme or the standard model, (not sure on the difference tbh)? Though both look to be absolutely massive. Im using an alpenfohn k2, (same as illuz) but ive swapped the stock alpenfohn fans for x2 akasa piranhas. 50c max under 32m @4.5ghz, 72c max under ibt. The temps have actually dropped a few c after using liquid ultra. On first applying it i got a slight drop, it's now dropped a little bit more. Wether liquid ultra/pro has a bedding in period im not sure tbh. But im pretty pleased with the temps. Voltage is only 1.3200, but cooling in my case is abysmal. And the fans are only on the turbo profile in bios, they seem to run very quiet, as i remember with ai suite 2 installed, hit the full speed button and the noise was very noticeable.

I think its the non e version, the best thing is delidding, without that the max I could oc was 4.6ghz,with 80c Mx ibt stress, now 63-65c

I've used a cheap casecom case and now a fractal arc midi and temps are the same tbh

Aye, delidding seems to make an awfully good amount of difference. Very good temp drop you got via delidding btw.

Case wise, when i had my old x58 setup, (920 @4.2ghz) and overclocked gtx 470's in sli. All notoriously hot components, particularly the cards. From switching from my lian li to the shinobi xl in sig, i had a 5c increase in temps from the off. Im still trying to decide which case to stick with permanently. The xl looks beter internally, but the lian li is much better for cooling. And would cost a fortune to mod. But as watercooling is a future idea, it's maybe the better case for that.
