*****Official Things we BOUGHT in December Thread*****

Ooof, nice man.

Plus that monitor just looks GREAT (when there's no issues... ugh)

That keyboard also looks pretty nice. How is it? (Love my K750, but getting tired of how my ambient lighting doesn't seem to charge it properly)

The keyboard is great. Easy to use, wireless, great tactile feel to the keys.. probably similar to your K750, but i guess it could be annoying with it not charging properly.

And a new platform...

Thanks dude, and for the others with positive comments. Surprises me how there can be so many critics. If they can find me a cheaper system of the exact same spec go right ahead lol.

Anyway, happy new year all.

You could probably make a system of similar performance for half the price no problem.

The HAF may perform well and be silent but since you spent so much you could have gotten a better case altogether, the Corsair 650D, it too is silent and excellent performing!

Form AND Function :p

3k is a lot for that spec though, no SSD?!

Hard Drive: Corsair 240GB Force GT SSD

Ah yes, I saw the HD: Spinpoint and didn't notice the ForceGT few lines below.

I researched the 650D also. For my liking it looked too plain and simple - but sure, its a better case in yours eyes :) What case are you using at the moment?

Take a look at my posts... you'll see that i have a Corsair Force GT 240GB :)

Aye I did some research too and tried a few cases and returned them. I upgraded from a Lian-Li to the 650D (helps that an OcUK competitor lives 15mins away :p).

I've grown out of the extroverted case design phase I guess, less shiny lights, more minimalistic and professional design with big features.

I do remember the cold cathode case light days though

Well if you have so much time caring about how much i spent on MY system, go right ahead.

This is MY system, with MY money, and the BEST system that caters for MY needs TODAY. Not in a month, or 5 months, but TODAY.

I don't see why you have to simply hate on others.

Just take a chill pill dude!

Yeah sure if it was July or something but not January. :P 2x 6970 lightening is what? £350 each?
The new 7970's will be far superior and will cost only slightly more than what you paid for those overpriced 6970's. ;) If you had bought 2x second hand 6970's for £180 each off the MM I could understand but £350 each for a 6970 at this time of the year is mad.

This is coming from somone who wrote this in a post a few days ago...

"Yeah I might just miss the 7970's and go for another 2nd hand 6970 for xfire. " ....http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=20910003&postcount=11

I don't think you are understanding what some are trying to put across. On this forum people like to see people get the best out of their money, just look at the motors forum as a prime example :p

Nobody wants to see someone spend loads of cash on something that could have saved them a ton, that's all!

Yeah, I keep having to put it in front of a desk lamp when I'm doing something else just so it won't eventually die on me. That, and the paino gloss scratchy scratch finish are the only things that bug me about it.

The chichlet style keys are awesome though.

Love the design of it, it's just hard to find another keyboard with a similar sort of design that doesn't suck.
