Guys, got an issue with a couple of my Unifi UAP-AC-LR. I have 4 in the house. Despite meshing being disabled, 2 of the APs keep using each other as the uplink despite being hard wired.
If I unplug one, the other reverts to wired. Did this for both. But when both plugged in again they mesh with one another.

Any ideas? The other 2 are fine!

Cables all appear fine

Would my current ER-X fully cope with 900/900 CityFibre pppoe connection or would I need to upgrade to maximise throughput?

This is probably the most simple question ever and I should know the answer...

I'm thinking of buying one of the mesh devices, the one that can sit on a desk. I have a poe switch (which is hardwired back to the router) near it.

If I just plug the mesh device into the poe switch will it automatically be able to configure itself to the network or will I manually have to configure it?

What exact device? If it's a UniFi AP of some form, if you have a their Network Application already, it should show up for adoption then site settings will be pushed to it automatically.

Anyone know how to stop AP's from repeatedly making DNS query's looking for the controller?

The 'unifi' domain is constantly spamming the DNS server (technitiumDNS on an RPi).

Turned off uplink connectivity monitor, AP's have a static IP, but they still keep looking for an active controller (not running, installed on a pc and only used for firmware updates)

Iperf tests?
Not got round to testing this yet unfortunately, been manic with work. Shall get it tested in the next few days before it goes to it's new home next week.

I've been offered a sealed with warranty UDM Pro for £320 or the SE for £440. Which would be the recommended purchase? (Decided to just go all out now, no sodding about)

Do you need PoE? Think that's the main differentiator.

I have 500/70 and at line speed CPU isn't high as long as you have hardware offload and aren't doing packet inspection etc.

I believe that the internal connection for routing is 1Gb/s total not duplex so you won't do 1gb up and down at the same time.

Are they definitely uplinking wirelessly? The topology in UniFi is a bit iffy at best especially when there's 3rd party swtiches in the mix. It also likes to change it's mind as and when it chooses so it'll be reporting fine one moment and then all over the place the next.

Run a continual ping to one of the AP's that reporting as being uplinked wirelessly. Pull the power to the AP that it is reported as linking to. Do your pings contunue? Any drops at all?

Changes are it's just the UniFi topology reporting incorrectly as it likes to do.
