UI Black Friday sale

G4 Pro Doorbell available for about £160, sold out in UK store, but still available in EU store for roughly same price in euros.
Nice price! I would have been tempted, but weirdly I prefer the standard G4, the auto LED means I don’t have to have an external light/PIR to be able to see my keys etc.

Yeah, normally I'd have wanted PoE, but ordered one to dip my toe into recording video on the Dream Machine Pro and replace our OG Wifi mains powered Nest Doorbell.

A little apprehensive as initial reviews from a couple of years ago say the notifications and detections are not as good as Google's, but we'll see if things have changed since then.

I imagine they will be similar to the cameras I have the notifications from my G5 Ultra on and they're perfect, line crossing at the bottom of my drive works flawlessly.

The poe ports on the 8-60w are only poe, the lite has poe/poe+, so if you need that go with the lite. So you have 30w max output per channel on the lite vs 15w on the 8-60w.

I decided to go with the USW-Lite-8-PoE although I bought from the elsewhere on sale that said in stock yet it ended up having a 5 week lead time which was nice of them. Also bought a Ubiquiti 3m patch cable that are nice and slim and are not an eye sore down the corner of the walls. AP associated and Vlans configured easy enough using Unifi Network server now it has visibility of the switch.

The only issue I'm having is initially I associated and named the PF Sense device successfully in the Network Server so it was online and discovered, yet it has now gone permanently offline and I don't recall changing anything, this is acting as router, firewall, dns etc and everything is still working it would just be nice to have it showing online on the topology with the rest of the devices, perhaps port/rule related in pfsense?

Thanks in advance

I've been running pfSense and Unifi for years and never really thought about the pfSense device on the topology map. Just checked and the LAGG uplink to it shows as a random switch behind my desk with that switch's clients missing :D.

With Ubiquiti firmware I am just happy when the core networking is okay.
