*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Got my UDR7 on Thursday and finally had a chance to put it in place. Seems I made a somewhat fortuitous decision to get the SFP+ module and use that as the WAN as others are having issues with the RJ45 WAN port. Overall seems to be good, and will probably keep it, the built in AP is decent and offers better coverage than the U6 Mesh I had in the study before. As per usual its take a little while for devices to settle down but all seems to be working ok now, only thing I need to check is wifi calling hand off which worked fine before but seems to not work well with the call dropping.

UCG Fiber

I've had a bit more time to play with the UCG Fiber, and my thoughts on it have somewhat changed for the better. When doing my first round of testing, I was using my MBP with a 2.5GbE USB adaptor, which may have been causing the lower results. I'm now using my desktop,p which has an add-on X550-T1 NIC, which generally performs very well, and all results shown below are from that.

I will still need to revisit the 10 Gb RJ45 port now, which I will follow up with some more results.

Power Use:

~9W unloaded
~12-14W under normal operations

Port 7 - SFP+ (UACC-CM-RJ45-MG)
Connect Fibre - 2000/2000 - DHCP

Overall, I am quite happy with it now, and I have moved everything over to this. I'll test it for a few weeks to see how it performs.

Here is a diagram of my current UniFi setup, which exclude Protect
