which 10GBE injector and SPF Module did you order?, I want to use the remaining 10G SPF+ port on my Pro-16-Max-PoE for a Flex-2.5G-PoE switch, but want 10G and PoE to power it so will have to inject (ideally)..

If it's any help, I'm using https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0851BPFXV?th=1 currently in my UDR7 and it's been spot on. Temperature in SFP Analyser shows ~58c at the moment.

Which on City Fibre is not actually that expensive, If he decides to get a 2.5Gb connection at some point in the future he'd have to swap out an Ultra.

Surely an Ultra should do the job fine unless he has over 1Gbit connection.

My exchange has all ready been upgrade to allow 2.5Gb, I am looking at buying the new 1.2Gbps tier which is promoted with an average median speed of 1Gbps (1000Mbps) for £28 the 2.5Gb is only £50. I may also need to add a static IP Address which is £3.95

Broken Hope is right I looking to future proof if possible.

The Fibre is the best device for you then.

That was what I did under my original attempts and plan to give it another go later.

To get an intent connection via my ISP router in bridge mode I had to enable ipv6 prefix delegation and VLAN tagging on the Ubiquiti portal on my old cloud key and USG set up but it didn’t work on the fibre so I must have done something wrong somewhere.
Quick update on this, I managed to get the UCG-Fibre updated by running a double NAT setup behind my existing USG/CKG2+ setup. That enabled me to restore my CKG2+ back up to the UCG-Fibre - great happy days.

Now this didn't actually solve the problem, the UCG-Fibre can't get an IP from my ISP router even when using the internet and network settings from my fully functional USG/CKG2+ setup as restored from the backup. The ISP is lightspeed and they issue an integrated ONT and router made by Nokia.

The settings pages are slightly different between the two and the UCG-Fibre has more options available. The main noticeable difference is I can't set IPv6 prefix delegation on the network side of the UCG-Fibre, the only option I have is Auto but it is set to the correct WAN interface on the setting above.

I'm not sure what else I can try to be honest, any thoughts?

I like the new EA topology view.

Oh the WAN stetting you should be able to select SLAAC under IPv6, then you can configure prefix delegation with your ISP provided settings.
Thanks, I'll give that a go tomorrow. I may have tried that but I'll have another look tomorrow.

This is a screenshot from my USG page with the setting I cant set on the UCG-Fibre - I didn't think to get a screenshot of the UCG-Fibre to compare! Basically the setting with the red circle is just a check box with 'auto', you can't change it.

Weird. This is my CGF WAN configuration for Aquiss:

This is my WAN set up page from my USG, using the same settings my CFG can't get an IP from my ISP router.
Don't use ISP provided DNS, they are nearly always trash. Use Cloudflare, Quad 9, Google etc, just don't use auto.

Few questions:

Is that the right VLAN your ISP has given you?
Does it work the you disable IPv6?
Is the CGF WAN port plugged directly into the ONT?
Do you have WAN mapped to the correct interface of the CGF? The default one it uses is port 5 IIRC.
Does it work if you configure DHCP for the WAN, and plug it into your existing network when you use the USG?

Yes, mine is trash and slow for sure.

Yes - well it is what I extracted from my ISP routers management pages. They were meant to send me the settings in a document but never did, in any case this has been working on my USG for some time. I will contact them and ask them to confirm them.

Pretty sure I tried this and it didn't work. I'll retest.

Yes, although it is a Nokia combined ONT and router which I need to put into bridge mode to use a 3rd party router. I also tried mapping different ports on the CGF and that didn't work either.
Does it work if you configure DHCP for the WAN, and plug it into your existing network when you use the USG?
Yes that works fine. I did this to update the CGF to the latest version of the network application so I could try and trying to restore from my existing Unifi backup to see if that would work (it didn't).

I wonder if it's Lightspeed playing funny buggers and their DHCP servers not liking a new MAC address. Can you try and get the USG MAC address, then put that in under MAC Address Clone in the WAN settings of the CGF?

X7 Pro XG would not adopt via the Unifi app...

Decided to try and install Unifi Server on macOS and see if I could access it that way... Bingo! I was going to ssh and upgrade the firmware manually but the default password was not working and neither was my 'network key'. Seems there's lots of comments about devices being a PITA and not configuring correctly or allowing access. I'm not sure why there are so many goddam apps and UIs for their products. Currently I'm looking at the XG in Unifi Network/Server, but it doesn't see my DR7...

Good news is the SFP+ adapter is working nicely.

For some reason, the POE injector and cables to the XG are displaying as Fast Ethernet on the DR7, though I think that will change once the firmware on the XG updates.

Finally got it sorted, a bit of management through 192.168.1.1 and I noticed that something on the UDR7 wasn't up to date, smashed that, XG adopted first time. That was 2 hours well spent.

Never trust an app.

Has anyone experienced problems with the unifi parental controls or a "family safe" dns provider? I have my kids devices and the TV assigned to a kids network. For a long time I'd set it to use openDNSs family safe DNS servers. The devices have real problems updating apps though, to the point that I have to log in as an admin profile, update things, then reset the devices etc which is obviously annoying and what have you.

They seem to have problems using these custom DNS or the built in Unifi parental controls and wondered if anyone else had experienced such problems.
