Howdy,

Just creating this thread as my import copy has arrived today, and I will be hammering this tonight. No idea of what the exact EU/UK release is, but this came out on December 10th in USA. I know some other people should be getting this in the next couple of days, imported as well.

If anyone else has this and fancies some online stuff add me to PSN

You should, there is no negatives to importing PS3 games. And they're cheaper than going to the shops over here.

What about import duty and costs?

They are avoided by the decent online import places. The ps3 games tend to be £30-£32 ish with free delivery and no charges from one place in USA (takes 6-8 days delivery). Or there is a Canadian place that charges about 37ish including delivery and they deliver it within 4 working days.

These companies mark the item as a value below the VAT & Import taxes threshold. Never had a problem so far and I have bought PS3, 360, NDS, PSP stuff from both of them (as have many others on this forum).

Just curious, do you guys use a keyboard and mouse on your PS3?

T.

I use a wireless keyboard for typing stuff and have used the mouse for browsing before (but don't browse on the ps3 normally).

This is the first game that supports mouse keyboard control in game (on ps3) so tonight will be the test. I have no reason to think it won't work. I will be trying one of those Microsoft Wireless Keyboard mouse sets (2.4ghz, not Bluetooth) that I have lying around.

Mine arrived yesterday but i wasnt able to pick it up :(, so i got this and the BD version of GT5P waiting for me, may hunt you down online tonight rp. If i manage to get a chance to pick it up from my brothers. Hows it play online? is there much lag on the dedicated servers?

Mine arrived this morning at work, hence the screenshot, so won't be trying it till tonight.

You me and JUMPURS online tonight, hopefully.

Mine hasn't turned up :( i'm sick of royal mail, i've had some stuff posted 1st class monday and last week that still hasn't turned up

I think single items of optical media are generally exempt from duty, but I'm not sure what the actual ins and outs of it are.

It is based on the cost of the item and the rates vary on the category of the item. That is why the import companies mark the value down and claim it as book/toy/optical media (which it actually is in this case!).

Something like £18 is the limit I think, but yeah, savvy companies just lie on the packaging and customs let it slip through.
I don't mind paying import duty + vat on stuff, but it's the additional cost that Royal Mail slap on which gets my goat.

Have you ever thought you could do with a "Human Clone"
Might need one or two to get you through all those new games your getting.

How does the UT3 compare to PC (graphics framerate etc)

Gonna try when I get home, But I don't have the PC version so will be hard to compare. From what I read it is a rock solid 30fps. I will post some screenshots if I can but I just have a phone 5mp camera, so not ideal.

The clone is a good idea, I have just cancelled my games rental service as I have too many good games to get through!! So someone should be getting the Assassins Creed on PS3 which I have spent maybe 5 hours on and kept for 1 month, in time for xmas!!

Try out some mods if there are any released yet. Will be good to know how they handle on the PS3 (I assume any PC mod would potentially work with the PS3 version?)
