******Official War Thunder Thread*******

\o/ Huzzah! Was good fun last night, sorry for only being around for a bit, was expecting to finish work and be home at 6pm, ended up being 9.30 :(

Nice to see OCUK still rule the skies though :)

Horten 229 embarrassed by a 2.0 BR Chaika, using only machine guns with Tracer rounds. :D

My thanks to Kwango for his help on this one

Just came back from the states....together with a TrackIR 5 :D woot, looking forward to trying it. Facetrack didn't work too well for me so I hope this is a little better.

More info needed dammit!*

*As in, does it make it easier to get more kills with? If so, count me interested!

If you play realistic/sim yes, its probably only useful for in-cockpit views, i can't see any benefit to arcade/3rd person view. Although it works with other games too, like the arma series to make it more immersive.

So far I've used the TrackIR in the following scenarios:

- Arcade tank battles (external view)
- Realistic air battles (virtual and real cockpit views)

I've not had the chance to play very much but it excels for dogfights. It makes looking around you precise and super-duper lovely. It's a very awesome experience and the tracking is very precise, zoom and all. I'm still getting the hang of it as it takes a little bit of getting used to and I still use "track target" a little bit to help me out sometimes but I'm just working on breaking that habit, even in virtual cockpit view. I've *not* tried bombers yet, I'm wondering how it would work for gunner view. In some ways it makes aiming a little harder as you are not focusing on the reticle so much but rather following your target but this has its advantages when performing passing shots or deflections.

It also works surprising well for arcade tank battles. It doesn't seem to behave just like mouse look, instead your viewpoint is still fixed from behind the tank. So, if you are in 3rd person and then you look to left and right it gives you a very good perspective. It's very useful for keeping an eye on your flanks.

I can imagine this would absolutely pwn in Sim battles. Rating this highly right now.

Been using TrackIR for a few years now, mainly for FSX. Couldn't live without it now.

In war thunder, arcade, I can honestly say it has cost me quite a few kills. All lined up, nice and steady open up the cannons, then twitch my head and have to start from scratch and repeat.. :D

Once I get the hang of the game I can't wait to use it in cockpit mode.

Yeah, I *really* want to try a SIM game with it. It should be great fun :)

Some epic warthundering was had with Matt and I. Basically there wasn't much left for the rest of our team to shoot at!

After being shot numerous times without (somehow?) instantly dying I thought it might be a special night of WT.

And relax....

Ok...

So I'm watching some mingles with Jingles and trying to learn how to be a better tank commander when it dawns on me...

I've not seen a single tank that the person has killed. So I rewind the video and move through it to see where I'm missing the tank popping up. Once again to see how I can improve my tank spotting.

Not a sausage. Even skipping frame by frame I don't see the bleeding tank.

So here's the screen cap. Where the **** is the enemy tank?!
