I have only recently discovered this game, and mainly play the air battles ( arcade for now), it reminds me of Bf1942 on maps like Battle of Britain or Coral Sea.
What bugs me a bit is that I have to play against players 3x my level sometimes, I'm still on lvl 1 and 2 planes and there comes a jet fighter which kills me before I even notice he's there.
I've tried 1 or 2 tank battles but I'm to impatient for it, I don't like hiding/camping/etc... I like quick action like in the air battles and no way to ''hide'' for people .
I'm getting loads of lag spikes sometimes and the payload of the server going up, wish the servers were more steady, I have lost a plane or 3 now due to lag .

Ah, I have a Zero plane that has a battle rating of 3.2, but it sucks compared to my other planes atm which have a lower rating.
I just ragequit again, was flying low, and there was the the lag, ping 999 and plane straight to the ground. Ugh. I don't know if it's my ISP or their cruddy servers, I hate lag .
As you already know, the matchmaking in Random Battles is based on the Battle Rating of the participating vehicles, allowing the creation of game sessions without the explicit need for an additional ruleset or limitations. Through this, battles are quickly created and the teams are generally balanced.
Today, we want to present our plans to extend the rules of our matchmaking to further increase it’s effectiveness.
The goal of every player is to achieve victory, and thus he is likely to choose the most proven technology available to him at a certain rank. For a multitude of reasons, this is a challenging situation: A mission may require certain tasks to be performed by certain machines that may not be as favoured as others, or the diversity of vehicles in battle may be low, as especially in higher ranked battles the range of available vehicles is generally not as wide.
For this reason, we want to add new settings to our matchmaker, allowing us to influence the creation of game sessions with a higher precision. And, of course, we want to invite you to join us to actively test the upcoming changes. But what exactly will change?
With the introduction of our new settings, we will be able to not only limit the amount of vehicles with a certain Battle Rating in a match, but also ensure that these vehicles are distributed more evenly amongst both teams. Additionally, for example, we can then direct how many attack aircraft or heavy tanks are allowed in a match, and even define how many vehicles of a specific type (e.g. Tigers or Shermans) will be able to join the same battle.
These new settings for matchmaking can be set to apply only for certain Battle Rating ranges.
We will inform you about the beginning of our tests in a separate announcement soon™. The tests will be repeated until both players and the development team are happy with the results. Thus, we would greatly appreciate your feedback during testing!
Why not just lower the BR spread to 0.7 max? How ******* hard can it actually be?
Seems like a great idea to me I dont know why you guys are moaning.
Soon the days will be limited when entire teams spawn in M18's or Tigers. This to me is a good thing as it adds nothing to gameplay other than satisfying these particular tank fanboys, and will encorage people to elite more than just 1 tank.
Think you guys have missed the point, what the issue myself, Wango and Matt etc have is that the match maker system is overly complicated enough and doesn't work very well... in a competitive game you shouldn't be getting thrown in to battles against greatly higher tiered vehicles anyway.
What we'd like to see is a more competitive simple system, for example you are matched against players 0.3 below or ahead of you to make things more competitive based on the tanks rating...
Not being stealth nerfed and chucked in to tier 7 or higher battles because you've had a good game and getting one shotted swatted repeatedly.
The old tier system (in your post s/tier/br) seemed to work pretty well but then I might just be remembering it fondly. However, I think a greater variation of vehicles, particularly in RB and Sim would be very welcome. This new system *might* do just that. SarGara is right when he says games are full of the same vehicles (i.e. an entire team of Tiger H's).
I'm not finding that though. fair enough when the m18 first came out even the dogs in the street were driving it, same with 105 Sherman. but then gaijin nerfed the guns on those and changed the BR so they weren't OP'd at their tiers anymore.
what gaijin need to do to stop games being flooded with the same tanks is look at their BR system and tweak it so that at any given BR there is more than 1 'fun' tank to drive. flaffing about with an already broken MM system and putting constraints on which tanks players can take into games is not the answer.
how do they decide who gets to take their Tiger H? I assume it is a first come first serve basis? can you imagine what is going to happen if that is the case....think about it.....those that don't get to take their Tiger H into battle are just going to quit out and keep trying to get into games until they are able to get their tank of choice in game.
