Also, they've forgotten how to Maths, it would seem...

Had a bash during my lunch break. Most notable things thus far:

- graphics look markedly different, particularly on vehicles. Very polished.
- new sounds are great, each nation has its own voice overs now!
- the Achilles is amazing
- I think the new crew point system makes things a bit clearer, if hard to adjust to
- New maps

The bad:

- New indicators - spot a target and it shows up in your main view it seems? This was in RB
- Only premium GB tanks, boo! Need moar!

one of the most disappointing updates in a long time, plenty of paid content, not much stuff to grind out.

All the colours look massively washed out and hazy now too, was expecting so much more from the way theyve been upselling this patch.

I was disappointed by the pricing of the Brit stuff. I really wanted to try them out after the long wait but I cant justify £9 for a BR1.7 tank ranging up to £30 for the Black Prince! I of course gave them a whirl in the test mode :)

I wouldn't buy the Firefly as Im sick of Sherman derived tanks from playing US
I wouldn't buy the Achilles as the M10's turret traverse speed made me hate that tank

My opinion anyway lol.

Yeah, I've found the new engine to be a bit.... lolwut?

It's washed out and lacking in detail, the crispness of the old engine worked well, sunlight glinted off metallic surfaces nicely, whereas this actually looks more like a "game" rather than what it used to look like. And I've not managed to destroy any buildings yet, or parts of, or seen anyone else do it... not sure what's up with that?

Brit tanks are probably a massive disappointment all round, to be honest. They didn't make it at all clear in the devblogs what the situation would be with these tanks, I think people wouldn't have minded quite so much if they'd been just ordinary premiums, but an additional £57 just for 4 tanks? How about... NO. (I'd be less polite, but it'd just be a stream of *'s on this forum)

Shame, because the game had so much potential before the greedy marketing dept got hold of it.

well gaijin have pretty much put the nail in their coffin as far as I'm concerned. they're not even hiding the fact now that they are just trying to fleece the life out of the existing customer base

I was going to drop Armoured Warfare for a couple of days to give the new update a whirl but reading the above comments I don't think I shall bother now. I'll carry on spending the weekend trolling in my Swingfire :D

I got to ask, how in gods name are you enjoying AW? I've played a few hours and it is just awful - as I said in the AW thread, it feels like the micro machines game from a number of years ago - micro machines was a great game btw, but I don't want my tank to feel like a little toy car racing round a track.

if I'm driving it at speed and slam on the reverse key to stop I keep expecting the damn tank to flip, the sound too - oh lord what an abomination and while some may like the graphical side to AW it's just to.....meh for me

Seems to be a pretty chunky fps hit as well with the new patch :(

Also have to love how the british tanks are all in their own separate little bundles £31 for the black prince, probably close to £100 for all 4 of them, these people really love to bend people over....

Opinion bears no relation to fact ;)

There's nothing wrong with the Physics, the Chieftain and Chally are ******s to control, momentum continues in relation to mass if you come off the accelerator depending on what you are driving and whether you have wheels or tracks, the landscape affects your vehicle as it should do, ERA and spaced armour stops HEAT, HESH damages everything, AP gets bounced if not aimed properly, ATGM are fun to use and requires skill. Arty is great support when used properly by a skilled player and not OP, Every class of vehicle has a proper role on the battlefield.

I imagine as you only played a few hours you didn't get passed the intro vehicles which nobody plays once they get to the real ones (except maybe to credit farm in PvE).

For a game in Beta it's an excellent opening. The only downside is the number of players who are bringing a bit of the poison community over from WoT.

clearly the test server doesn't test very well either!

Some players’ profiles have been blocked for 1 day for repeatedly exploiting an identified bug in game mechanics, thus committing a repeated violation of paragraph 1.6 of the War Thunder EULA - Engage in any act that Gaijin deems in its reasonable discretion to be in conflict with the spirit or intended use of the products and related service, including but not limited to circumventing or manipulating this Agreement, game rules, game mechanics or policies;
