******Official War Thunder Thread*******

Well, Gaijin just took a mighty dump on anyone aiming for the Tiger.

You have to win the battle... with the highest score on your team.

10. Flipping. Times.

:(

Thanks for nothing, comrades.

Should be easy for you ;)
:D

Well, stomped my first one, after a few tries:

Lineup I used is 2x Achilles, and the Crusader AA tank. Reason being is that the 17pdr rarely insta-kills, so you can get the .50 in action while you're reloading, and score more points for more hits. Sometimes it'll take several 17pdr hits to get the kill, but you end up with more points because of it.

Take out fighter planes rather than bombers, and just attack random tanks, or suicide dive onto weak AA units like the russian trucks.

Is it just me or is the majority of the arcade playerbase a bunch of cowards?
Hardly anyone ever wants to move out of their little hidey holes and capture anything :(

I think arcade mechanics encourage this tbh.

Anyone on tonight for game? I should be starting at about 8PM for a few hours hopefully :)

This 10 wins while being at 1st place on the scoreboard thing is painful.

Just winning games is a challenge lately and the ones I've managed to win have been such steamrollers I've not actually done much to get a score

No worries, probably not on tonight but we'll see.

Anyone pre-ordered a Rift then to try with this?

Having used the DK2 for WT unless you play sim battles all the time I would say don't bother. It works well occasionally, but everytime they patch the game it breaks oculus compatibility and they don't bother fixing it as it isnt popular enough.

Last time I tried it the spits gunsight was still glitched and not working, that was about 3 months after a patch that broke it.

that's what I'm talking about. Just played an RB tank battle on Tunisia with Sidewinder, flanked the whole enemy team from the left side and took me 10 kills :)

Thanks for the feedback, looks like I'll be waiting for a while then. I don't use my trackIR that much, even though I quite liked it.

Something interesting about the Comet but one of its strengths, the gun depression at the front is really quite good. Enables you to sit at the top of a hill and fire into valleys etc. without giving away too much silouette.

On the downside, it's reverse speed is absolutely terrible, which makes it horrible for "peek around the corner" jobs.

Its in a whole different league to trackIR, its far superior for positional tracking and its great, but I wouldn't get one just for WT.

I'm waiting for reviews first but I'll inevitably be getting one

I know me and Matt have spoken about this before now, but I thought it was interesting to read some actual maths/stats behind it too. Worth a read:

http://forum.warthunder.com/index.p...-being-up-tiered-constantly-you-probably-are/

The interesting findings:
If my theory is correct, you can see how the domino effect proceeds:
•7.7 will always kill lesser tanks.
•Avoid 6.7 to 7.3 because you'll usually be up-tiered to 7.7
•Seek out 6.0 to 6.3 and usually face lesser tanks
•5.7 is probably neutral
•Avoid 5.0 to 5.3 because you'll usually be up-tiered against more powerful tanks
•Be at 4.3 to 4.7 and face lesser tanks much of the time
•3.7 and 4.0 are probably neutral
•3.3 will usually be top dog, especially since the T-34-76's have moved up to 3.7 and will be pulled up to face the 4.3 and 4.7 tanks.
•2.3 to 3.0 will get the most even mix of up and down-tiering.
•1.3 to 2.0 will often face weaker tanks because the 1.0 reserves must be put somewhere and their matches must be filled.
•1.0 will always face stronger tanks

The full topic is worth a read :)
