I think they said it could be number of days before they rolled out all the premium planes people were entitled to.

Also if you go to your pilot tab and look at achievements , then click on special it will show you if you completed the achievements necessary.

well told myself i aint paying to play so saved up 320k lions for my Tempest MK V , finally bought it so thought now for some carnage .
Damn it 120k crew cost , wheres my credit card.

Have they stealth nerfed the Spitfire IIb?

Reason I ask is it doesn't seem to turn as well or kill as well as it used to and I've played this plane a lot.

I'm only getting between 6-9 kills per game. before I could get high teens without breaking a sweat and now it seems more difficult.

Any ideas? If they have, I'm uninstalling - how dare they mess with the spit. :(

same with the me410 mate, that used to be like flying a german Beau' for me, now its a hippo

I read the patch notes now as 'we've tuned FM's to more realistic levels' as 'we've realised things were historically better than russian planes, so we nerfed them while ignoring bias'

I'm sure there has been some sort of skill balancing with the update but not in the right way, all my games tonight had 'special' teams at tier 3 who seem the only way to win a game is all go after one plane at the same time.

That and a domination map where no one except our clan tried to cap even when asked made it a thoroughly frustrating evening overall

Why am i getting put in tier IV fights , can anyone tell me as you can see below i only have planes above the red line which i thought was the cutoff before IV.

Just thought if i swap out my tier IV Mossie for a tier III plane would that put me back into tier III battles.

Leemk, Tempest and MK XVI Spit are both tier 4 aswell as the Mossie - Also even with Tier3's some of them have a battle rating above 4, so you see some tier 4 planes, when in the garage select each plane and on the left side it will tell you the battle rating for each one.

Im sure thats how the battle rating works anway.

As a relative newcomer to WT, I have started concentrating on british and american forces. I've so far got the blenheim, hurricane and Spitfire mk1 for the british, and the F2A1 and F4 I think (first corsair style naval fighter in blue).

For the british, should I concentrate on the bombers and the spitfire tree, or tech into the hurricane/typhoon tree as well?

For the Americans, are the naval fighters better to work on than the land based P36 - P51 tree?

also, do people think premium is worth the money? Does it make a big difference to the speed of research etc? Also is the only way to get golden eagles via money or can you win some some how?

Cheers

I prefer the naval fighters for the Americans. I fly in RB mostly and I prefer the flight characteristics of the F6F particularly, its much more forgiving to fly than say a P-400. The P-400 is brutal on takeoff and poor at altitude. The F6F isn't too great in a dive (rather its satisfactory), retains its energy just well enough but turns very nicely and performs well at slow speeds (it's very stable). I found the P-40 and P-400 are terrible at low speed, so if you find yourself in a turning fight you will have a hard time shaking someone. Ideally its BnZ with the P-40 and P-400 but inevitably you end up in a furball at some point, partly because I keep finding I'm going up against enemy fighters with a better climb rate, so when battle joins they are about 1000m above me.

Re: Brits. Go for the D.520 (that is a NICE plane) if you can afford it, otherwise stick to levelling up Spitfires with a Typhoon on the side ;) I found the Wellington disappointing, although it can usually take a good beating and other bombers are lacking. The Beaufort makes a nice torpedo bomber, if you like that kind of stuff.

Fair comments. I find the Brit tree varies in relative strengths - early on, 8 MG and the 12MG armed Hurricane can hold their own, although they feel weaker as you level up - then the Spit 1b is excellent but you only get 1 of that model, and have to wait a while until you get another cannon-armed Spit.

Later on the cannon armed Typhoons aren't exactly the greatest dogfighters in the world, more of a BnZ plane, but if you do get in a big furball and can get your guns on someone... they're toast! And that sound.... man.... those 20mm cannnons, through Acoustic Energy speakers... :p

I get moaned at for not having headset and mic on TS, but you should hear how satisfying my Typhoon sounds - then you'd understand :D

On a separate note, if you enjoy the biplane flying and low level fights, play as the Russians. Their first biplanes have at least twice the firepower of other nations, and then you unlock the mighty Seagull! (Chaika)

4x 7.7mm MG's firing down the noseline, and it out-turns anything else in the game. It can handle its' own up to tier 3 easily, when you know how to fly it. Oh, and rockets. Yes, you heard. Rockets!
