****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Always wait for the arty to be ready or almost ready before going in or wait for the tanks camping to be set up, also wait for some action to start and pick a less congested route to their flanks/base, give it about a min before starting, sometimes a little longer, and as for the scouting, if you have a clear shot to the arty go straight to it, if not do sweeps, go in spot and turn tail always zig zagging or away at an angle and change directions - Seems to work in fast scouts the best such as t-50/50-2 and t71-T21 and ELC AMX and sometimes a 13-75/90

Im sure someone who is more scout worthy will have a different approach to it, but thats my approach and works quite well - Also stopping and spotting is tricky, you will find spots where it works but as a rule of thumb - Sit slightly behind the bush, dont move ever when your there and never shoot, if thats done correctly and you light them up you will get just as much experience not shooting, due to the spotting damage you will get.

This is a video of me playing active scout in my T50-2, before the 8.0 physics patch though it should give you a rough idea:

And here's a T50 as a Passive scout, to start with, until boredom got the better of me.

Hope they help. :)

Will need to get up to speed on scouting. Didn't realise the 59-16 was a pure scout. Have fitted binocs, but really need to start resisting the urge to open fire (even with the pea shooter gun it's equipped with! :p )

Scouting is a bit of an Art. Its something that I used to be very good at but like most things, when you get out pf practice you start to be less effective. IMO when scouting you need to be both bold and reserved, the trick is when to use each of these traits.

The times i see scouts die the most are within the first 2 mins of the battle. Just when the opposite scouts are doing the same thing, just when the heavies are getting into position and just at the time when your most useless (in most cases) as a scout, as most of your team, especially Arty will not be ready.

Never stop when your spotted. Keep driving, fast, give you opponent the least profile possible to shot, dont turn side on unless you have cover. Use the terrain to your advantage.

The most important factor is simple. Stay alive. You cannot scout or help anyone when your dead. All you will do is serve to **** your team mates off because it means someone else, in a less suitable tank will need to pickup your role. It also means your own arty is less likely to survive the game.

Learning each map is crucial, knowing which booosh, or rock to hide behind and where you can be hit from is very important.

Have a plan, this is something we are getting better at, but Arty and Scouts need to know the plan so they can position accordingly.

Wait....Wait some more, hang out near the arty initially, for a couple of mins, let the game settle down. Its more advantageous for you to know the battlefeild before you set out. Wait for some red dots to apear. Once you know whats going on, you can see what tanks are where and then make a calculated guess where the others maybe.

You can also passive scout. Sit in your fav spot and dont move. Just light them up for your team mates.

Lastly, be opportunistic. If you see a tank on its last legs and you think you can take him then do so. Be smart though. Always try and get around the back. If you have an auto loader, try and track, then shoot. One thing I used to practice over and over was to fire on the move zoomed in. Its actually pretty difficult when your moving fast over bumpy terrain but there are skills that will help.

Oh and one more thing. Six sense is a must.

One important tip I think you forgot.

Let the arty know you are scouting for them. Number of times seen a message from a scout to an arty and the latter completely ignored them.

For those wanting to join my leaving the country doo. I have changed it to the 7th Feb. People dont like leaving doo's on a Friday.... apparently.

erm so yeah...finally got ace tanker

T29 is a noob tank, only noobs drive it, it's point and click; you're such a noob!

(Isn't at all annoyed that his T29 stats are being ****** on by skdav the noob!...) ;)

Please fully star out all swearing in future. Thank you.

1. Scouting is fine if you have a team that takes advantage of it. i.e. not complete utter brainless keyboard dribbling morons with as much intelligence as a pile of steaming monkey sauce.
2. Scouting is fine if you have arty that understand typed english when you ask them to look at you and know when to look at where you're headed ready for arty spots.
3. Scouting is fine if you have a team that monitors the in-game minimap and adjusts the spread of forces accordingly to meet the approaching lemming train coming from the opposite team.

Unfortunately, the scenarios above only occur 0.01% of the time so the rest of the time you're better off sitting at the back of your base, shooting your own T92s in the backside with your T-50-2 until they wake up or say in broken english that they've reported you.

/Siemma.

p.s. The game is great, the players are utter ********* idiots, don't speak english or both.

p.p.s. Yes it was a terrible weekend of WoT, one night I gave up trying to get my triples after 1 win in about 12 games. After the win, I figured I'd quit while I was ahead!

The Upshot of what Defrag is saying is that scouting is only useful if your team is awake. I've had numerous games where I have scouted very well, keeping lots of enemies lit up so my team can shoot them for them to camp so far back that they keep missing their targets so it has not done the team any good at all.

Totally agree.

In my case I did alright, won more games then I lost and also decided to get a win in my s-51 arty, sell it and get an Object 212. Played 1 game and had a team that understood the importance of spotting. It was heaven!

What about the latest craze. Been shot up the ass ! Game starts and off you go after about 10-20 seconds you get shot up the ass and a track breaks. In the last few days its happened to me 4 times. There is always one tank wildly shooting at anything from the off and its usually this idiot that clips you.

I haven't played this in well over a month, I'd even bought a month of premium just before Christmas but work and family has been crazy busy :( I was having major performance issues with the update released back in December as well, so need to sort that out. I might be able to get some time in later in the week hopefully!
