So they upped the pay to win factor and buffed a Russian tank that didn't need buffing by 20%?

Some updates that I'm sad to see haven't made an appearance:-

Teams & Players

  1. Added the ability to automaticaly uninstall the World Of Tanks desktop client by right clicking the players name in-game.
  2. Added a new option to choose to play in teams where the average IQ of a player is above 50.
  3. Added a new option to play on a region specific server where everyone speaks the same language.
  4. Updated the reporting system to actually do something other than provide a placebo effect and make you "feel better"

I would happily buy gold to "pay to play" for any of the options above or pay a certain amount of credits to be put into player specific battles. That would be my idea of heaven. :D

Not getting what you mean by the pay to win factor, and in regards to the Russian tank buff I can't really see why it needs buffing either, but u don't play much anymore anyway so...

Only thing I can think of is this:-

Premium consumables (med kits, repair kits, etc.) are now available for credits (matching the gold/credits exchange rate similar to that of premium shells)

I'm really liking the Batchat on the test server too, the autoloaders are fun. Only problem is i only have the ELC AMX in that line on the main one and hate light tanks.

I'm on the AMX 40 at the moment, can't stand it, I'll just take the x2 everyday and it'll take some time but I'll get there.

Worst tank in the game imo i hated that grind, then i go and get a topgun in it with about 1k xp to unlock the next tank lol.

Cant get onto test server, your number in queue is 86,525
think i will give up, now on 69.982 after 27 mins :-(

Come play companies jcol.

AMX40 is bad but its far from the worst tank in the game, the ARL V39 is much worse and i have heard bad things about the Churchill Gun Carrier

Just started playing this as I got 10,000 free gold through the nvidia promo codes, I really don't know what I'm doing and I don't want to waste the free gold.

Save the gold, you will not need to spend it until at least Tier 6, I recommend you either go down the Leichttraktor route and get yourself a Tank Destroyer, so Leichttraktor > PzJg I, Marder II and so on. This is a good branch to take yourself on at first so you can get to grips with the game.

I'd watch the Mechanics playlist, no questions asked, and also some of the Tank Academy. If you have any questions then I don't mind answering them and I'm sure the others wouldn't either.

Just a heads up, I believe those nvidia codes begin to expire at the end of April (i think its staggered, as some expire this month, some in june, etc) so if you are sitting on those, you should use them up or give the invite codes to friends

Might want to save your gold, the 2 year anniversary is next week, hopefully we'll see some decent ingame discounts

Had a couple 7500 codes myself which until recently I thought were for new accounts only :P Though I think I'll just save the gold for special sales or incase they change their mind on discontinued tanks

Yeah good point. I have the AMX12t unlocked atm but waiting to see what discounts they do with the 2 year anniversary before i buy it, we'll probably get x5 xp for the first battle for a good few days with it too so that'll help.

If i remember right i bought the AMX 40, played a few games in it then free xp'd outta there lol.

It can be pretty good at bouncing a few shells of below tier 5 however apart from that there's nothing to like, its slow, its gun is utter crap, although I want the ELC AMX, its the tank I feel I could like, hit and run pretty much.

Have to say, just downloaded this and loving it. Ultimately on my way for a Tiger, but the SPGs are pretty fun too :D

SPGs? Ewww!

If you haven't done much on your current account i have one of the invite codes that give you 2500 gold for free you can have if you want. Would need to create yourself a new account with it though in order to get the gold as it doesn't apply to current ones.

I have a few tier 2 vehicles now, but I am just guessing my way through it all.

Should you just focus on one nation to begin with? I have German, British and American tanks being researched at the mo. If my current "tactic" of development is a bit rubbish I can always start again.

If you only have tier 2's then it won't hurt you to start again with the code, it's one of those Nvidia ones and 2500 gold gets you a month premium meaning 50% more credits and XP. I'll pop it over to you via trust.
Honestly i'd either spread myself out and try most up to around T6 so you can get a bit of a feel for how the different nations play, although some dont come into their signatures until even later than that.

Germans - Big targets, usually heavily sloped with good armour and the guns generally are very accurate. The Tiger you mentioned earlier, Tiger (H) is poorly armoured, it's shaped like a box that needs to be angled to bounce anything and even then same tiers will still pen you, prone to fire too. Tiger (P) much better armoured tank but leads to the Maus which isn't a very good tank these days, even my t7&8 mediums will eat it for breakfast unless its back in somewhere i can't get to it's side. The Tiger (H) leads to the E75 and E100 which are much better.

American - Generally medium to low accuracy with ok damage but with awesome gun depression on most of their tanks meaning you can abuse terrain. Their heavies get silly amount of armour on the front of their turrets from T7 up.

French - Low armour apart from their higher tier TDs but fast and some of the lines end up with autoloader tanks, means they have a barrel that holds say 5 or 6 shots that can be fired in quick succession.

Russian - Innacurate guns that do a tonne of damage (122mm is theme for the russian tanks), fast but generally not well armoured until T8+ where you get tanks like the IS3 with a tiny yet very sloped and thickly armoured turret.

Brits - haven't played them and really not sure what they're good at other than the T8 Caernarvon being annoying and their TD's having rapid fire guns and being invulnerable unless you aim for the weak spots.

Chinese - basically the russian tanks with more damage and minuses in other areas like accuracy

Edit - there are some exceptions to what i've written above but its generally how their tanks go, some have a tree that does the opposite where they are better armored and slower than most of the others for example.

Cheers for the code. I think I was looking at the Tiger due to it being a famous one... I have no real idea what to ultimately aim for. I quite like the initial German light tank, and the American one (probably due to speed).

I think I already hate the Chinese, French and Russian starter tanks so may just sell them for the garage space this time and concentrate on the others properly.

You're welcome fella. My advice would be to pick out some T6 tanks and find some you like as they're easy to get to, T6 usually gives a general idea of where the lines are headed. Plus T6 and 7 tend to be where the most fun is at IMO, T8 used to be but something is a bit sqwee wiff of late with matchmaking and not so much.

Don't aim for Tier 10's for the time being. I'm something like 3500 matches in and don't even want a T10 atm, T9 and 10 matches tend to have 4-5 arties per side and one hit from any of them screws you for the rest of the match if it doesn't result in you being dead. Mostly everyone just camps for fear of being spotted.
