****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

started this a couple of days ago, only have the pzw35, any tips for a newbie?

ingame name is hax3n so I will follow the link when im back at home and join up. ANy tips for grinding?

for grinding xp is gained for general team play, so you can earn as almost much xp spotting if you are at the bottom of the list as you can dealing out damage if you are at the top.

credits are more based on damage dealt so the more damage you do the more credits you will earn.

it is much easier to grind if you have a premium account which gives you 50% more xp and credits but you have to buy gold for that.

i'd suggest you play around in some of the low tier vehicles and see which suits your play style best, some are really good at playing the waiting game in td's, some make very good scouts in light tanks and others better at more involved medium or heavy lines.

tier 4 - 6 is about the sweet spot for credit grinding i feel with tanks like the m4 sherman, panzer 4 and kv being decent earners.

i added you to the clan so you should enter our chat when you log in now and there are always people around that can help if you need answers to anything in particular.

Enjoying playing this for just over a week now, so nice after playing Eve which is an extra job compared to this. Have been playing the German tech tree and really loving my Stug III with the 105mm gun and also using a PzIII as well with the 75mm. Currently trying to work my way towards a VK3601(H) but that's a way off yet.
Tried playing arti for literally a couple of games but not sure if I'll go down that road.
Signed up for premium within an hour or so of playing as I definitely don't mind giving the developers a few quid for the fun I'm having.

Gutted, trying to grind my way to a Tiger myself. Stock gun on the Tiger was the 88mm, the most accurate and lethal of the war :(

Unfortunately the KwK 43 L/71 is another 26000 XP away from me yet. Its strange trying to adopt a playstyle with it. You are too slow to run away from the higher tiers, don't pack a punch to perform a sniper role and get mullered close in. Guess its back to hiding in the hedge guarding the arty until I pick up some upgrades.

Game plan of the devs for 2011 and 2012.

2012 Mystery Revealed
What to expect in WoT in the near future? A lot of stuff!
We give you the unique opportunity to get hold of World of Tanks release plans for 2011-2012. I'm totally sure most of the plans announced will be accomplished in time thanks to the team of highly-skilled professionals, that currently comprises around 300 people in 3 major offices.
With the development center in Minsk, Belarus, Wargaming.net has fully functioning operation office in California, the US, and two forming offices in the EU - in Paris and Berlin.
The main focus of the development team is to introduce new game modes, add more tank models (French are coming soon), new maps (Jungles, anyone?), improve visual effects and the engine itself.
The detailed release plans are given below.

Stay with us and you won't miss anything!

5 man platoons sound great. :) But i reckon with that feature they will have to increase the amount of players per side to do this maybe 32 player random battles?

Just got the short 88 for my 3601, not a bad little tank now. My t34 is absolutely horrendous though.

Most fun at the moment is the ISU-152 with the BL-10 does ridiculous damage.

i need some tips.
does the order you appear in the list have any affect on the game, as on some maps i am at/near the bottom and some i am on/near the top?

also any tips on the best order i should go? at present i have gone
USSR- MS-1, BT-2 then BT-7, but i am looking ahead, and in tier 5 i can get the T-34, which i have heard good and bad things about.

now i am thinking, i should have gone MS-1, T-26, T-46 and then in tier 5 i would have the KV-1 which seem to be popular, is this the best way?

Got the 88 long for my Tiger at last - feels like another tank :)

Yeah I went the T26,T46,T28 & KV route - seemed like the least painful. Got the KV1S now so I can grind out the IS as well as the option of moving to the medium line.

Just got to decide on a TD now, love my epic'd Stug but in two minds whether to continue down the German line or move to the US or USSR line.

?

Yes - sorry forgot about that part - the closer to the top the more powerful the tank in that battle simply. It matchmakes based on your tier - sometimes its nice and you are at the top fighting against lower tiers - sometimes you're not and you fight against better tiers.

Finally had a chance to play on a decent machine and could not believe how good the graphics are... the tank models are so detailed! This game really deserves all the praises it got already!

i knew i should have gone that way, the BT-7 was 90.000 and it is fully specked up now, but to sell it, its only worth 49.000 :(
its just got speed going for it, my shells bounce off KV's. :(

i have all the settings on max, and it does look good. :)

Nearly got my e-75 and love my elite e-50, as a side quest i am grinding for t54 and is4.

The tiger is good if you snipe from the back or defend.

Most fun I have had haz been my elite pantger 2 in tier 8
