****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Yeah you get half their xp and credits for winning (which is why you get such a poor result if you lose) so being on a winning team is great for xp/credits more so than random.

Thought I'd take your advice and join a company game (everyone else was clan) so I could learn some stuff.....turns out I had to do all the killing :p

Lmao, that must've been a shooting gallery specially for you.

If theres on thing in this game that ****es me off more than anything else its those ****ing zero damage critical hits! Christ I just shot a VK3001 on 1% health with my Ferdi, criticals for zero damage.

Must be a bug as I've had loads. First 3 shots take something down to 2% - next 4 shots either bounce, crit with no damage or I get the "We've got them" it flashes white like you got a hit and still they are on 2%. grrrrr

I think they've still left the god awful track mechanics in where they just seem to absorb all damage and never break unless you hit the front/back of the track. Last time I played there were lots of comments on the forum about zero damage crits but WG don't seem to care.

But the best ones are when you shoot tanks with a 210mm AP round from the GW Tiger and it hits the tracks or criticals and does zero damage. Your last ditch effort which should demolish basically any tank below a T10 Heavy in 1 shot (with a bit of luck) and it detracks them or kills a crew member, so fun ><

I love this game, been in a wot clan since june and loving it. Play clan wars on the global map every night and enjoy it.

My best tanks:

is7
e100
GW Panther
e50
e75
T34 - loving the T34, need 30k XP for T30 :D

I'm liking the Tank Company battles too, but would be much better if we could have 12 or so OcUK players so we don't have to rely on some randoms.

I'm sure a lot of Champion players either use skins to display weaknesses or use Gold Ammo. Or they ar just THAT good. :(

My best tanks are an IS7, an IS4, and a T54. I'm working on an S51 and getting a KV13 unlocked to elite both my T34-85 and KV1S for the company battles. KV3 is pretty strong in those company battles :D

Oxy, still ready for a platoon game with you at some point, need to work on my T54 to elite it yet and quite happy to earn xp for other tanks such as maybe that US line or the E100...

EDIT: You will have to come on the clans mumble server, we got a lot of crazy Dutch, Norwegian, Saffers and a token yank.

Im usually on most evenings but have only played a couple of company battles.

Have got my mic setup again so maybe i can start to use the mumble to help sort out some tactics.

Main tanks i have are :

IS4 (30k xp for IS7)

T34 (Got the 120mm gun and need about 80k XP for the T30)

Tiger 2 (Have unlocked the E75 but havnt purchased yet)

Lowe and a Type 59.

Loads of lower tanks aswell.

Was playing with a good company last night, basically they were using in-game voice and insisted that everyone could at least hear them before placing them in the main team. You didn't have to respond via voice, just be able to hear the tactics.

For the most part, they also had a good mix of Heavy Tanks, TDs, SPGS and Mediums.

If I remember correctly we had:-

Heavy

2 x IS-3, 1 x Tiger II, 1 x T32, 2 x Lowe (Tier count: 48)

SPGS

3 x S51 (Tier count: 18)

Mediums

1 x T44, 1 x Patton (Tier count: 16)

TDs

1 x T28 (Tier Count: 8)

They would put the TD and the two Lowes in a defensive position infront of or around the 3 SPGs to cover a flank, while the medium, the two IS-3s, Tiger II and T-32 went ahead in a single wolfpack along one side of the map (normally the same side the arty was positioned in.

The medium would normally be further ahead than the heavies and therefore spot any incoming enemy, draw their fire and take cover until the heavies arrived. Meanwhile the arty would be picking a single target (normally the heaviest tank the enemy posessed in the ones spotted) and raining down some pain. Usually by the time the heavies got to the front line where the medium was holding out at least one of them was a shot away from dying. This would either force them to lose a tank or this tank retreated so that they effectively were out of the battle.

With one or more of their tanks gone, our heavies could push through their attack and proceed to their base, knocking out their arty as they went. Either that or the arty had to retreat making them useless.

If the enemy attacked on the other flank (the one with the TD and two lowes) and it was a strong force, they would redirect one or two of the heavies from the attacking force back to intercept and destroy, these were usually the IS-3s as they are slightly quicker.

Only once we met a stalemate situation but we still managed a win.

Using these techniques, out of 15 or so games, we won 13, lost 1 and drew 1. The one we lost we were totally outgunned and according to the company leader the opposing clan were one that owned 15 territories in the clan battles and always shoot gold ammo - hence why they trashed us with little opposition - they basically just steam rolled us, killed each heavy in two or three shots. A very agressive play style, they did not stop or take cover, they had killed one or two heavies in the first barrage exchange and moved onto the rest like a hot knife through butter.

Some good experience though and worth picking some of these tactics up for our games maybe.

Guess all you need is a solid offence on one front and a contingency plan to get back and defend if the other side has the same idea. We should be able to field that sort of variety though shouldn't we? Cept with GW Panthers instead of S-51s it seems :p

i was analysing the arties on t6 recently and came to a conclusion that s51 is the best suited one...
The biggest splash, highest dmg even with low rof makes it a good shooter and if youre trying to counter arty the splash comes in handy.
We would seriously benefit from some gold to get us quicker into the clan battless... shame u cant get it without paying or playing Clan Battles!
Del, nice intel btw :) will come in useful :)

There is no 'best' as far as S-51 vs GW Panther is concerned, they work for different things.

GW Panther is extremely accurate as artillery go and packs a decent punch, if lacking in splash damage while the S-51 is far more inaccurate and slow firing at almost half the RoF the GW Panther has but the high splash tends to de-track targets even if it causes less damage.

So the S-51 will be far more destructive against tanks popping in and out of cover where the splash is more likely to score a hit and de-track it which tends to spell the end and the GW Panther will provide more steady damage by being able to reload faster and be ready to fire on new targets sooner.

In other words, you want at least 1 of each rather than just stacking 1 type.
