Ah so still the same basically, just with reading overlords latest blog i thought things were changing in them 2 regards to xp and credits so there wasnt much of a grind as it used to be.

Ah well, looks like you guys are still having fun, thats nice. Would play but without premium it just isnt fun for me and i couldnt keep shelling out for premium per month as i used to.

Meh, that was always going to be a load of ********. They want people to pay for premium, premium tanks and exp conversion. They changed exp/credit requirements for tanks and modules all over the place. Some went up/down by small amounts, some went up/down by quite a bit. Its not a fair bit cheaper for the KV to unlock KV-3 and KV-1S but its also more for the AMX 12t to unlock the AMX 13 90. Same with the credit gains for tanks.

I agree. My fps is 10-20 lower and I seem to get stuttering fairly frequently, like its trying to refresh the landscape.

Getting some odd FPS issues since 7.2. Stuttering and sometimes the game loads up only to be running at 15 fps until I change a gfx setting - does not matter what one or whether its up or down and then its back to its usual 50-60 fps.

SLI just does not work at all, runs much better on a single card for some reason, and when in sli after the game ends it appears as though the driver resets every time as the screen goes black and i can see my desktop in low resolution for a second or so before returning to the garage. Switch SLI off and this goes away.

they really need to shift some processes from the 1 core. its a bit silly considering the engine can do multicore. it would help people on lower systems just as much as high spec machines

same here.....was getting 120 fps before the patch.....now 12/20.....anyone know how to solve this....its doing my head in...tried all sorts....having to go to desktop and then back to game....this get fps up to about 30ish.....but still not good.

something I have noticed is that gpu usage is only about 35% during play over both cards.....

Well my FPS was low to begin with so stayed the same heh.

Finally picked up Jagpanther although it's all stock at the moment so the thing feels really slow and damn right unresponsive and gun is just about passable but should get the upgrade tonight after daily bonus.

Also decided to go into the US heavy tree, currently on Sherman M4 (as I didn't fancy T1) and enjoying that. It is a little slower than I expected and front armour doesn't really bounce shells that well. Coming from mostly German tree gun feels little inaccurate but despite that still enjoying the thing.

My tier 3 toys are all still as enjoyable as ever, got an Ace badge on my M37 even the other night, had 2 Top Gun awards in the row. I have been doing something little cheeky though, I've been watching for round tracers around enemy base where I expect their SPGs and TDs to be and been knocking out a few like that without them even being spotted, that something that's frowned upon or fair game?

I'm loving the AMX 12t. Had some great rounds today, jumping tanks 3-4 tiers above me. Setting things on fire or ammo racking them then as they turn to shoot me I run off and the other tanks take advantage and blow them up.

That was a brilliant round with Defrag and Link. Best to skip the first 5-10 minutes as bugger all happens until I move over to the middle hill (you can see the moment where defrag told me that you can reload an autoloader clip without emptying it :p). Annoyed the crap out of 2 T95s. Set 1 on fire and ammo racked the other 1.

Was a weird ending, Defrag asked if Link could get the last kill for Top Gun so the E-100 shoots an IS and it seems lots of other people were trying to hit it too. I was trying to drive in front of it and block it so Link could get a better shot and just as I got in front of it I blocked a shell that would've destroyed it as Link finished it for a happy ending (plus the damage caused by the ramming got me Confederate :p). Also got me an Ace Tanker badge.

Its a vital part of the game. Once you get to higher tier SPGs which can cover the whole map, you won't actually go after enemy tanks to start with, its a big waiting game, you Vs their SPGs. Watch the enemy base, looking for the tracer from one of their SPGs, and then hit it as fast as you can before they move. If you try and kill tanks from the get go, you'll just get counter-sniped.

In some ways it does make it a little boring, just sitting and waiting, but equally there's that suspense. You have to think about positioning, the enemy will be watching the usual spots on the map, so if you find somewhere else to hide, they won't see your tracers, and so on.
In the early tiers this doesn't matter nearly as much because the SPGs can't reach the enemy base so you can kill tanks to your hearts content. Plus people are generally less experienced, so don't know to look for the tracers.

Tbh I find counter-arty to be a lesson in futility. Its a complete waste of ordinance 95% of the time. The accuracy at that range is so bad you normally miss and you have no way of knowing if the target is actively moving. Thats if you can even find them in the first place. The number of CA shots I've fired only to be rewarded with nothing when I could've tried shooting a heavy instead is annoying.

I'm starting to see a trend. 3 rounds entered since I got my AMX 13 75, every single one of them has been a T10 game on a crap map. Gonna be a long time till I get my tracks I think...

I never had much of a problem with it, but then again that was during the beta, I have no idea how things are now.
But personally, I always found it was a case that if you weren't CA then you tended to die pretty quickly as the enemies homed in on you. Accuracy wasn't a problem, even the bigger guns can be accurate enough to have a good chance of hitting. What I usually did was wait to see a shot, shift the reticule over the enemy to get it nice and small, and wait to see a second shot in case they had moved. If they didn't, then I fired as soon as they shot again, usually killed in one hit. Then once there's no enemy arty you're free to kill tanks.

In random games I haven't seen much counter-arty going on. I've only come up against 1 arty that moved after shooting. Every tracer-spot arty kill I have done has been a 1-shot 1-kill. No issues with accuracy at all, and that's only at a T6 S-51. I have not been tracer killed in a random game yet, which goes to show you the ability of the average WOT player!

You could home in when you could tell which direction tracers came from when targeting enemy tanks because you could see the entire trace. Unless you are looking directly at the firing position you won't see it at all so you can spend ages just staring blankly at possible locations. Either you hold right click and keep your cross-hair aimed at a useful location and have to re-aim when you do spot a tracer which wastes time, or you aim at the possible location and when you see bugger all, have to re-aim again elsewhere. Not to mention you lose your awareness of whats going on in the frontline or how players are moving.

Theres just no point in it most the time. Arty isn't accurate enough to guarantee a kill even if you find the tracer and the enemy doesn't move, never mind not knowing if they actively move back/forth or relocate. Frankly I find T-50-2s to be a greater threat to arty than counters.

Thats an S-51, mostly against similar or lower tiers no doubt where the splash is almost certainly enough to kill them. Doing it in a GW Tiger/Type E has rewarded me with nothing quite frequently. Very, very rarely it pays off and I find an arty and manage to land a hit. The last game I played with Type E we were against 3 T8 arty and I must've fired 3 or 4 shells at tracers and never landed a single shot, then got destroyed by a VK2801. Complete waste of effort.

I find there are a number of limited spots per map that arty can occupy anyway, simply look there for tracers and you stand a good chance of doing some useful CA.

Quite true on most maps when you're dealing with bulky high tier arty with no camouflage at all like GW Tiger, but outside of tank company with voice comms you can't really tell when an arty has fired (unless it gets a kill) since you know that the arty won't be firing again until ~40-45 seconds after that. You can spend a hell of a lot of time just staring at empty space, unsure of whether the arty is there but firing when you look away to fire yourself or if its somewhere else.

This looks to be still be going strong then? I really enjoyed the beta but got bored with the grind when the game was actually released and just stopped playing. Might be time to give it another go though, hopefully my account will still be there...

Got into a Hetzer and I'm conflicted over the gun to buy!
The 10.5cm does 7 rounds pm, 350 av damage with 64mm pen, or 410 with 53mm
The 7.5cm does 15 rounds pm, 110 av damage with 106mm pen.

I'm leaning towards the 10.5cm with the HE ammo. It might not penetrate as much, but You still do damage with HE, even if you don't penetrate, right? At least I think that's how it used to be?
