Just been looking at wotlabs and here is my win-rate by nation.....

WOW I SUCK at Swedish tanks - got to Emil2 and Strv103-0 and played best part of 100+ games in each.

It just seems that Emil2 gets killed whilst reloading and the inter shot time is to long to be able to unload a clip. Strv103-0 is just SOOOOO situational dependent. On an open map with guns that don't overmatch it is god like, on most maps (city/corridor) with big guns facing you 122mm+ it just gets eaten alive.

Help ! What are your thoughts when playing these Swedish tanks - what helps you win ?

I have a really good win rate in my strv. Agree some maps are utter dog crap for it but you can still make it work. Remember it's a very defensive tank so camp if you have to. Also remember you don't lose your camo bonus when you rotate in siege mode. You can effective play it as a turreted td.
 
The games where I do best in it are when I have cover and can snip from the second line or when I can keep enemies with <=120mm guns in front of me. It is so frustrating to get overmatched by 2mm by tanks like the IS3.

They really need to make overmatch a curve probability rather than a switch.
 
Yeah it's really stupid how it works right now.

I just looked at Wotlabs and was more surprised to see how much better I am at artillery than other classes :eek:
 
Strv 9 and 10 are pretty obnoxious against all western heavies and meds.

Most other meds too but that cut off which penalises 120mm and gives autopen to the common eastern 122mm shells is really obnoxious.
 
I think I might buy it again, just miss that ol' derp with stock turret.

You can wreck havoc on lightly armoured tanks regardless of their tier and can be very annoying to heavy machinery with constant module damage and tracking. When top tier you basically bully anything in your way and 10 degrees with gun depression with 152mm of turret armour can go a long way too.
 
Anything that doesn't have Armour isn't really effected. But heavies are. The Jumbo main thing its its armour. I think I did better in the M4 with the 105.
 
Jumbo is my most played tank (or was). Two marks of excellence - was going to three mark but I’m crap. It’s a tank that I’ve kept to play for fun as I enjoyed the grind. With the derp it’s nice to know you can do something damage wise regardless of MM.

As for the AC-1 mentioned above, I played a game in that a while back where I was top tier and towards the end of the game I think there were three or four people shooting at me from various angles and the armour held up that well I managed to kill them all and win the game. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing as it was happening, haha.
 
Pretty cheesed off we're not getting the big tank discounts that NA is getting on top of what we get this weekend. Been waiting for a while as I've a few tanks to buy between T5 and T8.

Today is just a great ******* day overall without having to deal with server farts.

Actually the Caernavon isn't bad these days, but yeah everything else you say is valid.....

Except that is player fart, not a server fart. I got one with tcfreer earlier when the game never loads and everyone in game never gets connected to a game.
 
Yup seen a few reports of it today on other forums as well, not just me then.

If I'm honest I never thought Caravan was a bad tank to begin with, grinded it out for FV215B and apparently it's gotten even better since.
 
Yeah, I grinded it pre-buff and to be honest it was a joy to play coming from the Churchill VII and Black Prince and that isn't even sarcasm. Tried it out after the buffs on the test server for a game or two and it was pretty good. I was tempted to buy it back for a laugh, but now that we've got the new Russian heavies coming in a future patch I need to re-buy the T-10 (so I get to keep it plus the new T9) and re-buy and grind the IS for the new line spanning from that.

That Object 257 is utterly broken (in a good way) so might re-buy T-10, wouldn't even mind playing that again to build up XP for whatever gets added to T10 down the line. Object 430U looks insanely OP as well, going to have to see if that gets a nerf stick before live server, if not I'm jumping back to T-44.
