I found all the higher tier french tanks are unplayable without a GLD and Vert. Stab. I think I've said it before; before the nerf the Lorraine was amazing and then is was really bad.

Lorraine is on special atm? Might try and scrape together some pennies and sell it after the patch.
 
Oh definitely. If I see the AMX 50B I shoot the ******* because once its done a ton of damage you won't see it again till its reloaded (more than likely). If it attacks at close range it might do some serious damage but it would be lucky to get out alive as I prioritise it and I imagine the tracks are the first target.

I got the first engine in the Lorraine and took it for a spin. Definitely makes it a little more agile in close quarters as it can actually accelerate fast enough to take shots as you back off from attacking tanks. Managed to solo some bad Lowe driver. Came at me slowly around a wide rock as I put 2 in his side, then he drove past me and missed so I finished him off (then an IS killed me). Can't see it holding its own in T9 though.
 
PzKpfw IV (Pz IV) has become a keeper I think. Does sometimes get screwed over and pitted against T7 tanks but when you're top tier you can dominate in the right situation.

Really close game. Bit of luck with my shot not fully aimed in still hitting the Hetzer at the end and I did get a couple of cheeky last hits but I think they were deserved. Was a risky push into the enemy frontline in town but paid off beautifully.

I'm going down the French light tank route, and oh my life the AMX 38 and 40 are PAINFUL to use!

I hope this pain is worth it in the end!

All* lower tier french tanks are some of the most painful to play in the game. The AMX 38 is terrible but a short grind. The AMX 40 is even worse because it gets T6-8 battles frequently. 12t is a breath of fresh air. You can be a major annoyance to higher tier tanks on low hp when you appear out of nowhere and shoot them in the back/sides and finish them off. You still aren't amazingly powerful but at least it has potential.

*The T2 TD was good. The T3 is ****. As are the T2-3 arty and T2-4 heavies.

it is, the amx 12t is fun, but the accuarcy of the gun is poor,
regarding the amx 40, been there, done it, got the t-shirt and nightmares to prove it :(
but i got a freak result in the amx 40, 7 kills and 1.3k xp, but it was a pure fluke :D

over the worst now, bought the amx 13 75 last night,
but still on the BDR-1B grind, its horrible :(
not going to go down the french TD route, i have had enough of french tanks!
 
I guess what I mean is, if they re-buffed it you'll get the people in-game saying it's too overpowered and calling you a noob for using it. If they haven't re-buffed it then you'll get people on the forums moaning about it being a waste of space - regardless they can't please everyone and the number of retards I encounter in-game makes it quite difficult to give a flying **** anymore!

Judging by the stats in one of the JE-100 threads you can already make that claim. Its difficult to say 'overall' as the JE-100 seems to have by far the highest number of battles (10x that of the T10 French TD) which probably gives it a considerably higher number of idiots.

JE-100 is behind by a mile. It seems to be under performing across the board. And anyone who has driven an E-100 knows pointing your armour straight at the enemy is suicidal, you need the angle to make penning the lower front plate harder.
 
Well, when I get in from work I'll be purchasing the T110E4 with free xp so I don't care about the JE-100 ! :D

Also, from experience people tend to shoot gold all the time on the test servers (I know I do!) so perhaps those numbers may differ when the majority of people start using standard ammo? Dunno.

German tanks will always be abit lower as I am under the impression that the players who did the old US heavy line with the T34 were always made to think more. German TD drivers on the other hand seem less equipped than most.

Would love the E4 but I turned acc. crew training on in the HVY->TD patch so only have about 50k xp. I don't have the money anyway; I'm getting the M48A1 first and am all ready with 200k on my beloved patton and enough free xp for the top gun. Its going to be a tearful farwell.
 
Well seems like they broke the french tree.

The new ELC AMX seems pointless to me, its a td with the speed of a light tank, horrible reload time, no armor, low hp. The only good thing is the gun, but I found you cant really use that because of what the tank is.

13 90 seems ok, aside from the mm being same as before + 1 tier. Seem to get tier 10 games a lot. The 100? hp boost is worthless. Damage is too low for tier 8 autoloader.

Lorraine, I have not played this yet (no crew). I have heard that its pretty bad now. Reports of it being slower than before not to mention a massive target.

Battchat. Totally ruined in my view. constantly get matched vs t10 heavies. Cannot fight them. Straight line speed is worse, but its not too bad. Turning speed is abysmal. Its only defense of speed is now gone. Its hard to actually circle targets now, as is running away. Gun on paper should be good but I find it bounces a lot (bounced 4 times in a row on a IS-4 front, straight ahead of me @ 50m). Just doesnt seem to work. I would love to know why the battchat has a traverse speed of 42 (apparently) and weighs 25t yet the T-62A gets 56! and weighs 37t. The battchat is such a money sink as well. I thought it was bad at tier 9, but at t10 if you die and dont have a blinder of a game, you lose money. Seems very hard to get over 1k xp now as well. Also, HP boost is also useless. Doesnt make a difference when new tanks are hitting you for 1k. Gun is horribly inaccurate. You can no longer get close to targets nor can you snipe with it.

After playing it some more, module and crew damage seems to have gone up.

Tbh I think my opinion of the JE-100 will be forever tainted by my first round in it. Slow. Very slow. Went back to our hills on the north west side of Abbey to defend the point. Bounced on the side armour of a Maus with a small angle so had to use HE which at least did respectable damage. Had AP when I came up against a 700hp T100E4 and bounced off its turret with a shot aimed at the upper side of the hull and was shot twice in the LFP and killed before I could even reload. T110E4 is the TD I want to try but I'm still on the T49 ><

T-34-85 is an even more awesome tank now. Free exp for the lost 100mm (I started using the 85mm when I found out and it lacks a little penetration but is a really good gun) on top of a free engine worth 19k exp which gives you 80hp more.

I've heard they nerfed the BatChat on top of making it T10 so it can't turn as fast and its acceleration is lower or something. The Lorraine sucks. I knew something was up after playing it so I've just looked at its modules now. They removed its bloody gun. It no longer has the more powerful 90mm with 212 average penetration that the heavy line uses. On the plus side, its standard engine is better but like that matters when you can't actually fight anything your tier. And I'm 32k exp off the 100mm which it now looks like being required to play the tank.

The ELC AMX looks pretty good I thought. Reload time isn't great but the gun is pretty powerful. Edit: Oh wait, its gun has a limited firing arc like a TD... on a Light tank.... seriously WG?
