****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Yes it is nice to have a massive advantage over people not using gold ammo isn't it  Pay to win has begun...

and it makes the stupid people more annoying.

Personally I dont see the gold ammo as that much better than normal it still bounced off tanks.

I think quicker reload is better than gold ammo.

My original churchill is so quick now at reload with all the frills.

Its pretty realistic now to be honest.
Premium ammo was available during the war but it was in short supply.

It's simple, carry normal shells and a few composite shells, to get you out of a tight spot.

The M4 is hillarious with the 105mm

anyone else getting ridiculous amounts of penetrating hits that dont damage? im starting to think they have tweaked it so the only bit the brit tanks can pen are where theres nothing behind the armour. (tiers 3/4)

the cov with the 40mm QF is good fun but so far they are tanks that cant take hits but dont have the accuracy or pen for sniping work and only half of them have good mobility and when you do pen, you do 50 damage.

its a painful grind which im hoping improves from t6 onwards. im currently using my valentine to bypass the matilda and upgrade the churchills guns as they share every gun apart from one.

I gave up with 122mm on the IS for this reason, it takes soooo long to load, then it eiter bounces or 'penetration' and nothing. - Unless you are really close that is.

I am liking the 100mm better as the reload times and shell cost is so much better.

yeh ive played the heavy russian line and altho stressful i can live with it when you get the chance to alpha. so far it feels like a third of my shots (with a 50 to 70 damage result) are 0 damage hits. the icon flashes like a hit, i get the pen voice and i dont even track them.

Lol, ignorance is bliss right?

Lemme see, the difference between gold and regular rounds on the VK3601H's Konisch gun that you seem so fond of. 65dam/167pen vs 166dam/225pen. Yeah, not much difference there  You must just be far more skillful than everyone else obviously, not the ammo at all.

Pay to win lol?

It was pay to win before! Now anyone can have gold.

Everyone could have gold before but with it being out of reach of anyone not in a clan getting free gold without having to pay for it most people wouldn't use it. Being able to use credits just means you need to have either a premium account, a premium tank or both to fund it and it means you are much more likely to at least have the ammo on your tank in reserve and I imagine a lot more people fit into that category. 30mm more penetration is all the difference you need to go from a shell reliably bouncing if you angle right to the shell consistently penetrating from the same angle. Thats pay to win and its gotten more common.

Pay to win is premium tanks like the Type 59 and the T34

:D

Premium tanks are 'pay to get a huge boost to credit income' not 'pay to win'. I assume that makes you one of those players who whined the Type 59 being overpowered despite it being a pretty average tank that would explode every other shot if you didn't have Wet Ammo Rack?

i wont be bothering to use gold ammo.
for an experiment last night, i bought 10 gold rounds for the L70 on my VK3002 DB, it cost 2k per round, so a total of 20k.
we won the battle, and i survived, i earned 22k, so thats only a 2k profit.
oh and i am premium this month, so if it was a normal month, i would have lost money,

also the no damage pens is getting silly.
in my IS last night, i shot a tiger 5 times from about 80m, he was facing straight at me, so not angled, i aimed at 5 different spots, and all of them were 0 damage
maybe it is the 122mm on the IS, but i still get a lot of them on my Tiger and T29,

The IS is actually a very good 'medium' tank with the 100mm.

It just doesn't work for me as a heavy, due to reload times with the 122mm, glancing shots and no damage penetrations, it's armour just isn't good enough for the opponents it faces in close battle.

As for gold ammo. Its a fantastic addition to the game.
Yes, it is too expensive to use all the time, but back a wounded Tiger into a corner (or IS :D) and expect to get a mauling before you make the kill.

Switch to gold when you need it the most, it adds skill and another dimension to the game.

Come to Daddy!

and thats with normal ammo ;)

still using the 100mm skoda?
i still think the 122mm is better, i know its slower reload, but it doeas awsome damage (when it pens lol)
i have played 109 games in the IS with 63 wins all with the 122mm

You soon run out of money using gold all the time.

The skill is knowing when to switch.

The game is better for it.

I can now face a Type 59 head on with my IS ;)

Sorry, it being a skill implies an actual downside in combat. HE gets considerably lower pen but will do damage regardless and more damage if you hit weaker armour (at least it did, now it does **** all damage no matter where you hit) vs AP that will only do damage if you penetrate but does full damage every time. The skill there would be knowing to switch to HE to finish off a low health tank or use HE if you can't penetrate reliably. 'Knowing' when to use gold ammo because it costs more is not a skill.
