** Official World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Thread**

I know i'll regret asking this but are you able to get characters back from when i used to play vanilla wow?

I played the first expansion briefly but gave up... Think that's even pre battlenet.. Deleted by now maybe?

Best bet is to probably call them up/e-mail their support.

They will most likely ask for a copy of your passport and/or your WoW serial numbers, so have them to hand.

But non of your characters should have been deleted at all!

I'm slowly being enticed back into WoW... Really want to play again.

What's it like these days? I never did raiding, so it would still be totally new to me and the chances are that I would level up a new toon. Probably a healer. Or a tank.

Anyway, I also hear there are portals to get anywhere now? So no need to even think about walking anywhere? Is that true? I hope not as that removed 80% of the game then lol.

I'm back playing and enjoying it :).

Enjoying a bit of PvP, intend to raid a bit when I'm off for the summer.

You get insta ported to dungeons and raids yes.

Theres a portal to the blasted lands from every Capital City - so you can get into Outland. There are portals from Shattrath and Dalaran to Org + SW). Once you are into Cata levelling content you have portals to the 5 zones from your main faction capital city too.

Lastly, the main faction hubs in pandaland has portals to every city/****/Dal.

Ok, so what is what these days then chap?

I used to play Rogue PVP and wasn't half bad! I last played a lock, some dungeons and stuff. But no heroics as I just joined the game way too late.

So, if I start a new character, what is most helpful and needed in raids? What will be good? I love doing damage but also don't want to be waiting for raids and stuff as no one wants me.

Warlock pretty strong I think in dungeons. Probably best picking someone who can do both damage and healing though if you hate waiting. If you get tired of it you can just switch specs. Priest maybe? Monk is super fun, leveling one now.

I didn't like Monk when I was last on. I wasn't really pleased with them as they seem to be over powered and putting other classes to shame really.

I did play a tank shortly, it was really good fun. But I wasn't the greatest so can't see me being of much help in dungeons.

Is there any guilds I could join with regular players that chat and are helpful? Or are you all in strict raiding guilds now? lol

Erm, have they buffed drop chances on old legendaries at all? Last week, I did my first ever Black Temple run and Illidan dropped the off-hand Warglaive. This week, I did my second ever run and he dropped the main hand...

Woo hoo!

Now all I need is for Blizzard to let me transmog the blighters!

I did a sunwell run on my warrior a few weeks back and the bow dropped. Its the first time I ever killed KJ as well lol.

Finally got a heroic weapon and boots! Nice guy in the raid gave me the boots because I had lfr ones previously. Up to 561 now, catching up! Should have leg cloak in 2 resets as well!

Well, its taken me 4 days spread across 3 weeks. But I got my titan stones last night. Got the cloak, just need to go to the timeless isle and do the celestials and I'm done. Feels like I've been on that quest for ages!

WTB your luck

I did my first bit of PVE Raiding in MOP last night with LFR on my Hunter. I actually queued by mistake but it was instant so I thought I'd give it a go... talk about boring, I had no idea about tactics etc and didn't have a single piece of PVE gear yet I was top of the DPS by a mile. I know LFR is supposed to be simplified but seriously it's pathetic, I know Normal/Heroic raids are harder but I can't get my head around LFR, why cater for people who don't know how to play, even looking at people with good gear they were barely reaching 100K dps, a joke. No wonder MOP was a mess if you can get away with stuff like that.

LFR was intended to give the casual players a chance to do raid content as they don't have time for guilds and organised raids. Many of these casual players are clueless regarding tactics, rotations, positioning so the difficulty level is scaled back drastically. LFR is not the reason MOP wasn't a great expansion, no one forces you to play it.

^^ This. LFR is fantastic for us filthy casual's. Gone are the days where I want to spend hours min/maxing my gear and rotation and have to listen to some utter bell end scream down a microphone. With LFR I can jump in, see the boss fight/Lore play out and leave all whilst I am eating a bowl of cornflakes and watching something on Sky Demand. I've seen Garrosh die a grand total of twice, once on both my 90's and I'm fine with that :D

didn't play for ages,
is there any way for me to play on my account for a bit (even just a day or so?) without having to pay sub? not sure i will keep playing so don't wanna pay for a whole month...
i logged into bnet but all i see is WOD upgrade thingy, no trial or anything
