you should have to get your PVP basic gear through BG

Only when you have PVP reward gear in every slot should you be allowed to join an Arena.

this way the scrubs will stay out of arena and BGs will be v popular.

Pfffffff. Me and my lock pal were Gladiators (Rank 1 2v2) in full PvE gear.

Although to be fair we just blew everything but Rogue+X up :D

Yeah, thats the problem. Skill-less PvE hero-ing shouldn't be allowed :p

I'm sure it will be though. I also doubt you would get rank one in FULL PvE gear unless you are on some rubbish battlegroup.

It was Season 1 where resilience was far less pronounced than it is now so full pve gear or a 75-25 split was quite effective. Rogues would destroy you as a clothie however so were almost a guranteed loss.

Season 1 was Pala+Warrior all over though so rogues were rarely in the upper brackets where we sat. We were some 100s of rating clear of number 2.

I actually think banning PvE gear from Arena is not a bad shout, it does need a more "even" playing field and you still have to work for the top tier of PvP gear. If this is introduced PvP gear will need to be more accessible through PvE though also though.

There is, it has no resilience. It does not negate honor at all.

Don't be a hater because you cannot get hold of the tiers of PvE gear which are useful in the arena. These days anything more than a couple of pieces of PvE gear and you are dead anyway. The gap between resilience levels now is huge, unlike the early days.

Season one is a VERY different ball game compared to now though, I really loved Seasons 1+2+3 and 4 (aside from all the Druid cheesing).

Arena in WoTLK went quite poorly to be honest (which Blizzard have admitted), Cleave teams became far too dominant, they over buffed Druids after they were bad at the start and PvE gear was a pretty big problem.

Globalling people was also a pain in the backside.

This is why I think its great news that Arena in Cataclysm has been tailored around the Burning Crusade arena seasons and not WoTLK. Looking forward to it, PvE gear or not :p

For example, as a Disc priest doing 3v3, if you come up against TSG where the Warrior and DK both have Shadowmourne, you are absolutely screwed unless they are beyond terrible.
 
I just hate how long it takes for GB's to start.

It says average wait time is 4-5 mins, yet mostly I wait over 30 mins sometimes over an hour, just for a palrty amount of Honor Points :(
 
I think there is a plan to allow you to convert Justice to Honor Points, allowing you to grab entry-level PvP gear with PvE grinding. I'm not 100% sure though, almost certain they've not implemented it yet.
 
Just hit 64 on my warrior, zooming through the levels seemingly a lot easier to level nowadays than back in the days of vanilla wow, not a bad thing tho as its keeping me ticking over with new skills rather than grinding for days to get that next level/
 
Apologies for a slight derail to this thread but I thought one of you WOW players might be able to help. My friend is a WOW player, it's her birthday in a month and I'd like to buy her a card to that effect, if such a thing exists. Anyone know if so and where I could get one?

I don't believe any greeting cards company has the rights to sell cards using Blizzard IP, though there are plenty of on-line stores like cafepress which sell cards, mugs, T-Shirts etc. with well-known wow slogans. I suppose you could try using moonpig's uploaded photo card service, so long as you can find someone to craft a suitable WoW in-game screenshot.
 
Blizzard are keeping the Insane in the Membrane achievement in Cataclysm after people thought it was going to be removed. They will jsut remove the Shen'dralar faction reputation.
Luckily i sold all the librams and pristine black diamonds last week for 16,000 gold which were only needed for that faction. It means i can still take my time on this achievement and i've made a nice pile of cash! :D
 
a daft decision tbh, wants the point in all the new content to allow people to skip it with fully open race changes?! sickening greed

and you know its a decision taken at the highest level too because the designers have been saying on the forums for months that these race changes will not available from the go.

they are also removing realm first 85 achi aswell.
 
Oh yes.

As much as I like the idea of the Worgen, I think they'll look naff with proper armour on. Especially the the warriors. Worgen with massive two handed weapons look weird.

I just hope Blizzard update all the old races with be looks and graphics. My Belf and Humans looks bland and boring next to the detail on the new races. The same goes for items and armour.

I have the old lvl 60 Epic PvP armour and it looks terrible detail wise compared to the lvl 60 Deathknight stuff and other new sets. :(
 
Worgen actually look quite good in some of the Cataclysm armour actually. Then again it is of course down to personal preference, I cant get my head around why anyone would play a Male Draenei.... :/
 
2 different cards denied a total of 3 times on character xfer.

Why does monthly subs go through fine but a char xfer ALWAYS fails. This happens to so many people it's unreal.
