i'm fully into cata hype but just wish they'd remove the achievement system and all the useless superfluous crap that detracts from the actual gameplay
one thing that really bothers me in this game now are the achievement points... something about the whole system just constantly irks me. call it being anal or being over-concerned with trivialities, but my playing experience is constantly ruined when i'm aware of how little achievement points my character has. i got to rank14 in vanilla and experienced most of the game's content, but took time off from tbc (when i rerolled a belf) and wotlk (irl university commitments). now i've returned my character just feels... 'weak' in some arbitrarily quantified way. perhaps it's just me but, yeah, achievement points have really spoilt my enjoyment of the game-- they detract from the original focus of raiding and hardcore pvp.
i get the same thing in starcraft 2 as well. multiplayer league stats are great and all but then there's that pesky achievement figure just leering at you from the top-corner... :/
Exactly, there is nothing at all you can do to secure it and it just makes you another form of ebayer
He was even asking for one about level 74! I cant understand that at all considering it takes no time at all to level and its not like he would be getting a decked out character.
Yes,they can do damage. The amount of damage they do is offset by the fact they can heal themselves.Fights will generally take a little longer if you have a healing spec but it's totally viable to solo with it.
The downsides to a priest are cloth armour so you'll be very squishy at first. You'll also be sitting and drinking mana drinks fairly often because all of your damage comes from spells..at least till you level a bit and get a wand for damage. On the plus side priests are very versatile healers with 2 effective healing talent trees. You can heal groups very easily and quickly as well as heal single targets very well.
Paladins use mail armour at first then get to wear plate at higher levels. They use a combination of weapon damage and spells when attacking. They are a hybrid class and you'll be able to choose whether to dps, tank or heal.Their healing isn't as versatile as a priests, they tend to excel at single target healing but suffer a little when trying to heal groups quickly.Soloing tends to be *much* easier with a paladin too with little downtime between killing.
To be honest, either class can heal 5 man groups well enough and you'll be in demand as a healer no matter which healing class you choose.I chose a priest as my main character because of it's versatility and challenging play style.I'm happy I made the right choice.I've tried a paladin but didn't like it.
Ultimately it boils down to what you like the look of![]()
What level do you think i need to play them both to, so i can make my choice?

Personally I'd say at least 60. When is the next PTR due up? I think you can get premade characters copied over at level 80, should be a good way to test all the classes to see what fits you best.

You seemed to have forgot about Shamans. They're a hybrid healing/DPS class and wear mail, so not too squishy. They can happily heal 5man HCs and Raids. They also have the choice to be melee DPS or ranged caster DPS. Its made better that both ranged caster DPS and healer can share the same epic equipment.
