Anyone had their access restored, or some closure to this whole thing?

I appreciate what Colin did, but looking back at it now, the way Blizzard handled it was a complete joke.
 
it shows as active in battlenet but cant login to forums... so ****ing lame, wonder what **** got us all banned, i would guess someone with 10 posts who joined only to get an invite, the whole thing got out of hand and should have only been given to real forum members.
 
Just had a re-read through the thread and noticed Colins post.

Glad it wasn't just me that got banned in that case. I thought I personally had done something wrong.

Thanks for the clear up colin. Cheers for getting us the invs anyway. Even though it got we all got banned :p

Noted that some people have had their accounts reactivated. I will check mine when I get home but im not hopeful tbh.
 
Apologies for the bump but its the best place for this.

Anyone tried to get on the PTR now that its available for 4.0.1?

Just tried to login and it's giving the same old banned message as the beta even though the one and only response from Blizzard on the matter claimed i would still have access to PTR.

Not amused :(

i was lucky enough to get an invite via you and thanks for what you did, not your fault someone let slip somewhere about this. im still banned too unfortunately :(
have you got any idea who it was, do they know theyre to blame? :p
(ie, have you sent them a big thank you e-mail!)
 
Don't take this the wrong way but i have to say if i had known the actions of one person entirely out of my control would get my entire ability to ever use the test realms again blocked i'd never have bothered mailing colin.

Oh well...

I think most of us would be the same. I wonder if there's any chance of Colin managing to get the PTR bans lifted at all?

no idea but would be nice if he let the person who did it know via email or something or maybe put the username up, might not be easy to link to anyone :p

/edit, nevermind. just remembered its all email usernames now (havnt logged in since being banned on the beta)

I must say I have not checked PTR account but then again I have never really used them.
But if what people have been reporting is true then it kind of sucks :( Might email blizz and find out whats going on. Although bets are I get a "we cannot disclose that information" type email....
 
i was considering levelling a shaman on live, but with only 6-7 weeks until the game hits the shelves.

its pointless, i wouldnt even have time to gear the shammy up to decent levels.

ill wait till cata :)

its deffo going to be a gobbo mage for me.

Possibly a troll dr00d, but that said I already have a tauren dr00d so I will proberbly do that later down the line.

Anyone going for realm firsts ? I never bother personally because well I would get bored or annoyed if I got beat :p
 
I'm hoping they put an achieve for first fishing cap. I will prob go for that if it is :)

Plus it should be fairly easy, just get on asap and fish non stop lol
 
As I said in the past, not overly worried about being in the Cata Beta, I'll get to see the content soon enough. However I'm a little frustrated that I can't log into the 4.0.1 PTR as it's put spanner in the works with regards to my pre-Expansion blogging.

I note that PTR/Beta is by no means a right, but for the first time I'm a little cranky about it ;)
 
In my mind since you technically require an active account (at least at the time the database snapshot is taken) then you are in a way paying for PTR access.

Got a reply from Blizzard but its predicatably useless:

Note they completely avoided the issue of the last mail claiming the alpha/beta ban would have no impact on the PTR access.

Their whole attitude towards bans is kinda like being arrested and convicted of a crime but never actually being told what the crime was or being shown the evidence against you, yes they are a private company and not exactly subject to the rules of the Police and such but its still kinda pathetic.
 
TBH i'm quite hacked off at them I was in TBC beta and wrath beta, giving full feedback as much as I could and now they just have no respect at all. Its really making me start to hate blizzard more and more atm.
