** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

hmmm i am sure i checked there and most of the gear i have already is better than what i can buy in there. also you need other tokens to buy the highest stuff in there. will gio take another look....

thx

http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=886 would be the tier 10 gearset you would be looking at, in terms of raw stats you should be able to replace at least a few of your current pieces with the 251 counterparts.

The lack of spirit on tier sets is somewhat covered by a few hit pieces and i would wager that you could get near enough to cap to not need to gem or reforge to meet it, especially given the amount of spirit on some of the offset pieces.

Has anyone been able to override WoW's video quality settings using the Nvidia control panel while running in d3d11 mode?

Any changes made to filtering or anti aliasing in the Nvidia override seem not to work.

I think the game has to be coded a certain way to allow these settings to be forced on (or something to that effect), so it wont work with everything.

I've not played in months.

Just curious, are the classes more 'even' now in popularity? Or do we still have 101923092385083080 paladins every where you look? (a few other classes too, but just saying) :p

Na a lot of Paladins I know hate the changes that have been made to them as Ret.

Not sure as Holy and Prot though.

There's still loads of pallies. For a short time in beta Holy and Prot were terrible. As usual Blizzard then overbuffed them to make it easier for the people that play this class.

What about DK's and Hunters?

WHen I quit, tons of DK's were leaving their class, people were also leaving Warlocks and a lot were leveling mages and (I THINK) druids.

This was back when ICC was new and shiny though... basically just after its release.

Hunters are interesting, due to having focus now instead of mana. You'd have to try it and see if you like it or not, it does seem to be working fairly well and will improve considerably with the new 81+ abilities.

DK's are more of the same, though Blood is now a dedicated tanking tree (meaning Blood and Frost presence have swapped over roles)

I wouldn't worry too much about what other people are doing and saying, all the classes will be similar (with regard to DPS/Healing output) once Blizzard have sorted them out so play what you enjoy the most. People always complain about things too much.

You're not missing anything.

I miss the kind of "got nothing to do for 30 mins, meh, go on wow and just mess about with leveling" aspect of it.

Maybe I'll come back for a bit over xmas, just to level a character from 1 - 85 and then quit again. In other words, just buy cata.

If you buy an expansion, but have no game time on your account does it add a free amount of play time does anyone know?

To explain further, if you've got 0 days of game time, add cata (or WOTLK as happened back in the day) do you get 30 days for free? Or does it say, "well, that's nice, now buy the game time."

WoW is all about the people you play with, the game itself isn't that amazing really, its just really solid.

If you have a raiding guild and you are friends with everyone, the game/online social aspect of it is second to none. If you just tend to play a bit here and there, and mostly by yourself, its something else entirely.

I honestly think Cataclysm looks good, the fact they are trying to slow PvP down a bit, and bring mana battles back into the game instead of globalling people is good news for PvP. PvE and raiding looks promising too with obviously, loads of new content. I just hope the bosses will be harder like they used to be instead of pushovers like nearly all of the newer ones.

The old world looks very impressive and the quirkiness of the Worgen race should help balance out Alliance/Horde ratio's across the board.

If there's one constant in this game, it's that whiners will always complain about Paladins.

You have to buy more game-time too. Each expansion just unlocks content, you still need to buy game-time separately.

It's not whining, it's just how it is.

The only constant is that Blizzard does indeed cave to whining on forums.
The player base has become accustomed to it and knows it produces results.

So you're saying Blizzard shouldn't respond to input on how the game's playerbase want it to be?

You realize the WoW of today is a hundred times better than it were five years ago because of the players and their input?

Blizzard does not often cave to 'whining' really, are you suggesting that paladins are overpowered at the moment in any way?

At a time where the entire game is imbalanced as it is configured for level 85 and not 80?
