Can the people that have played the game; tell me if the game has changed?

Or like Lethal said that it wasn't changed and that it was only phased so when you came back from Northrend?

:) Just wondering.

I mean changed, as in all the new area's / revamped areas :)
 
As far as I can see the old world of Azeroth has changed (Outland and Northrend remains untouched). This means that we get new quests and the geography of many zones has changed as well. Furthermore, each zone tends to have a major quest line and as you progress along the quest line you go through a series of phases, both in NPC and geography.

An Alt levelled in Cataclysm will have a different levelling experience than an Alt levelled in Wrath of the Lich King, at least up to level 60.
 
So, when I leveled my main in Vanilla WoW all those zones, and quests ect ect have all been changed with this new expansion pack? :)

Lethal seemed to make the point this wasn't true and that the zones would change once you'd come back from Northrend.

Yep.

There are brand new Zones in the old world (Mount Hyjal, Twilight Highlands, etc.) which provide new lvl78-85 content. However the 'old' 1-60 levelling content has been heavily re-vamped for all characters, old and new alike.

It's pretty much new. There are areas with the same quests and the same npc's but in general it's new scross the board
 
I was watching a bunch of lvl 82's livestream some pve and pvp the other day. Everybody was running around with 40k + hp, tanks with 70~80k +. That all sounds good, except then it needs to be taken into consideration that a lvl 82 hunter can pull of 40k aimshot crits/20k non-crits.

Yet again it seems the developers have catered too much to the pve community and lot listened to those concrened about pvp. PvP will probably be WOTLK Season 5 all over again it seems....Predictable I guess...
 
Yeah that's definitely intended, it wouldn't be a bug due to beta or anything.. Do you seriously think Blizzard intend Aimed Shot to do 40k damage? Think things through before ranting.
 
Daftest change us no defense rating for tanks anymore.

I'm really tempted to unload at the complete dumbing down that happens with seemingly every patch but there is no point. I had a stupid vent chat with an old guild buddy during tbc taking the Mick out of how easy the game was becoming. We were saying things that we considered completely ridiculous and would never happen. Things like doing away with 25 man raids, no defense rating, no stats apart from base stats.

Out of our "daft" predictions pretty much the only ones that havent fully or in part cpme true is the introduction of the "iwinbutton" which people have to press rather than cast any abilities and 5man raids.

I love WoW but I am sick of what it has become. If another good game comes along I would jump ship super fast quick!

I difnt play the higher end stuff on alpha but I heard dungeons have been made even easier again.
 
Most of the testers i saw were in icc25 hc gear.

You cant accurately test a dungeon tuned for players geared in ilvl 170 blues, when you're rockinggear 100 ilvls above.
 
How exactly is constantly changing gear/gems/enchants around to meet the defense cap fun or interesting? Having to gear up a ton to even meet the minimum requirements to be uncrittable before you can do heroics or raids?

Yeah I was drawn to a Druid tank exactly because they avoid this hassle. Now the rest of the tanks do too, I am free to choose one on the basis of how they play not the ease of getting crit-immunity. I like this change.

Levelling dungeons aren't supposed to be hard, especially when its designed for people in greens to complete.

And what higher end stuff? the level cap is only 82, bit early to be bringing out the doom and gloom that its all nerfed and too easy.

Lol @ the complaints about damage and such. Numbers are practically the last thing they do in beta, right now i'll bet well over half the numbers for abilities are just a case of "that'll work for now".

As someone else said, might wanna relax a bit before going off on rants about pvp/pve balance until they maybe actually finish adding all the abilties and putting the level cap to 85?


Also, imo the changes (dumbing down if you want) to stats are one of the best things in cata. No longer do you need to wait for some genius to figure out the formula for your stats so you can tell if something is an actual upgrade or not.
