OK, flashed to the MSI bios, I actually timed Crysis Warhead this time, took 1:18 mins to crash; so still no luck.

Going to sit tight for now and hope its fixed in a driver update and in the mean time enjoy the other games that have no issues.

Nope, removed it after finishing Batman, which again was before I bought Crysis Warhead and discovered the problem.

I ran Furmark max stress test for 15 minutes, no problems, hitting peak temperature of 72C~ after a couple mins and maintaining stability all the way through.

I ran Crysis Warhead for 1min18 and it crashed.

Wouldn't that point to it not being hardware then? We all know how Furmark is with hardware. If it's furmark stable, then hardware wise, it should be fine.

I've said all along I think its down to the drivers, I've never doubted the card itself.

Why do you think that is? BIOS flashing isn't something they want everyone to be doing.

I'm sure they use a lot of internal tools and pieces of software that are also absent from their websites.

Catalyst beta 9.12s are also absent from their website...

AMDGPU Clock Tool is also absent from the site...

Was having horrible issues with the 9.10 drivers but so far so good with the 9.11 betas.

you have to get ATI flash from else were, like techpowerup etc

Whats the point in flashing them then, if you already have the bios on that your going to flash it with, pointless re-flashing, thats just like installing the 9.12's, then installing them again just for the hell of it :confused:

I've not read the thread, only the OP but from what i get from the jist of the conclusion to the OP (im not really in a reading mood

) is that 5850/5870s + windows 7 don't work well?

Well i've been using my 5870 + windows 7 for the past 2 weeks now and i have to say it's bloody fantastic! not a single issue had, playing lots of games at absolute maximum settings, in and out of dual monitor setup, sleep mode/hibernation doesn't cause an issue etc etc

The only issue i have had is that when using the hdmi connection pulling the cable out seems to make the ati auto recovery thing pop up when you plug it back in, but it doesn't appear to create an issue of any kind.
