Oil pressure

If it's gunked up like the pictures earlier in the thread, then they need to take the sump off and have a look - the sump shouldn't ever get to a surge/starvation - which would indicate a blockage in the system (or even just a dodgy oil pressure switch).

They're taking the sump and everything off for inspection tomorrow hence them keeping the car.

Oops, thought I replied to this!

Apparently one of the filters had been knocked on the underside of the car.. Could've happened when the car was being delivered, could've been me.. Who knows. The filter and other bits and bobs were replaced(free of charge), car came back absolutely fine, running sweet!

Now onto the next question, black or silver? :p

Sounds like BS to me. You don't just 'Knock' a filter in day to day driving.

Infact, you'd be hard pushed to Knock a filter driving through a rainforest

It had visible damage to it which wasn't there when I test drove/saw the car and when they gave it a full service and MOT so it was either me(there's lots of speed bumps around my way and the car sits very low) or it happened whilst they had it. Couldn't prove who was to blame but they fixed it anyway.

My 2.0T A6 did this on the way to work this morning, fortunately it decided to happen outside the Audi dealership (which is a 2 minute walk to work), so I've dumped it there and will be calling them in an hour or so.

The odd thing for me was that the warning disappeared again almost as instantly as it appeared. I was sat behind a turning car then suddenly got a "beep, beep, beep, beep" and a nice LARGE red warning on the DIS. By the time I got moving again, the warning had gone, no amount of ignition on/off/on would put the error on again, neither would pressing the "check" button.

Guess I'll find out what it is in a day or so.

Hope you get it sorted mate and what an upgrade from the clio!

It wasn't the A725 from the Raith to EK was it? Been up that at silly speeds and the corners are quite tight so the oil could have been at one end of the sump, unless it's baffled?

Ehh, not sure about that - it's dual carriageway there are no even remotely tight corners on it, hence why it's possible to get up to silly speed (but particularly silly as traffic plod likes to run up and down that road in marked and unmarked cars)

£1638 before offering me an incredible discount of £259 (unsurprisingly the exact amount the service it went in for at the same time cost me).

Add in the fact that it needs the cambelt and waterpump early next year, discs and pads before the years end, and tyres will also be due a refresh soon, that's the best part of £3k that it needs. Might be time to get rid!
