Because OP forgot to link the article see: http://www.anandtech.com/show/11272/dells-ultrasharp-30inch-4k-oled-now-on-sale-up3017q-for-3500

I'm so happy an OLED monitor is finally hitting the market, even if it doesn't have all the bells and whistles I'm looking for. Hopefully it gives higher ups at other monitor manufacturers *cough* LG *cough* a kick in the backside.
Funny thing is, I wonder where Dell sourced the OLED panel in this monitor from. The answer might be funny :p

But me wants now, fed up of my LG and not having experienced GSync so far.

I might buy the X34, presume I'm not going to do better than that?
Depends on what you needs are. If you want best image quality you will need to buy a 4K monitor. If IQ is not a concern and you want the hz, then you will need to get a 1440p monitor. If you want a 1440p ultrawide then probably the X34 yes.

Was it going to be LG then they changed to a different manufacturer? Or is it still LG and they left you out of the loop?

As far as I know LG only makes 55, 65 and 77" OLED panels. I'm like 90% certain this is a Samsung OLED panel and 10% that it's a Sony OLED panel.

I didn't leave any link out, I sent this news to Anandtech after I ordered it. Therefor I made this thread before Anandtech article. ;)

I see! Well you should still probably add a link (to the product page or article) or explanation to your OP as I imagine others will presume you're mistaken and that the monitor is still cancelled.

Amazing, but I'll wait for the next version. Really a shame it doesn't have 120Hz refresh rate, I always assumed OLED's easily manage high frame rates.
120/144Hz + HDR + GSync/Freesync and about £1000 cheaper and I might honestly be interested.

This is aimed squarely at the professional market place, not gaming so no-one should be surprised that it isn't 120/144Hz, Gsync, Freesync, Ultra wide etc.

There isn't anyone else making 4K OLED panels, so this has to be LG, others are all AMOLED or much smaller.

I do. I find it a much more immersive experience. Though I've never tried to game at 4K.
What happens to your immersion when a cut scene pops in or when you watch youtube? :p

If everything was made primarily for 21:9 aspect ratio, I would have no issues personally. I may try it again in the future though, it may grab me yet :)
