Yep will be interesting to see how well Phelps does, hes not as strong as he was in the 2008 Olympics.

Qualified 4th fastest for the final, wasnt exactly fast but as he said in the interview, hes going to have to re-look at his strategy for the final.

Seems to be the young 'uns are the ones to beat for the women, Franklin and the Lituanian girl both did incredibly well and it looks as though Ye is going to take the 200m to go with her 400.

Is anyone else in their mid 20's depressed by hearing the 21 and 22 year olds talking about the 'younger generation'

As an ex-swimmer myself, im more depressed seeing the totally ripped bodies (no homo ofc) of these athletes, as that could have been my physique if I had stuck at it. Obviously I was not Olympic standard but exercise is exercise. Still have huge legs from swimming despite it being 8 years ago

Phelps was interviewed after his semi final tonight and said he preferred the shorter races now as he's older (and laughed). Talking like he's a middle aged man

Lol, I guess that shows it's mind over matter. Can't imagine Phelps is as hungry (after achieving so much) as his new nemesis would be, so he possibly feels the strain more.
Seeing those ridiculously buff dudes today has inspired me to buy a membership for the local swimming pool.
