Olympic Track Cycling

Just noticed this story about Bauge apparently more or less accusing Jason Kenny (and by implication the rest of the GB cyclists) of doing something unfair to win. Anyone know if the story has been reported correctly or whether it has been blown up out of nothing?

If that is being reported correctly then it's a bit of a disappointment, I thought that initially Bauge had handled the loss with a fair amount of class.

i don't know about this story but i heard something similar on radio 5 the other day. the french were grumbling that GB haven't dominated track cycling in the 4 years since beijing and they're a bit miffed at our much improved performance in these games. the answer was quite simple. we don't care about results inbetween. all our efforts are timed to peak at the olympics. we have a lot of money from the national lottery poured in and it's all geard towards olympic success. lastly, there was a comment about our equipment but apparently you can buy it off the shelf and it's been around for 2 years. how accurate that is, i don't know. :p

From what I've seen and read their equipment has been scrutinised fully by the international governing bodies throughout development and fully complies with regulations. This is due to the furor after the last olympics. We just happen to be good at building bikes as well as training athletes. The French need to get over themselves, although I fully expected it to be the Australians as they seem to traditionally bring down our best efforts.

Whats that?
I just heard about it today, the last round in Feb is in glasgow.
I had a quick look through the teams, Mark Cavendish is riding? (for Howies)

its a track cycling league

think of it as the premiership but for cycling. loads of big names there

At the last Olympics they said that our lycra suits were burned after the event so that the technology couldnt fall into the wrong hands, apparently the other nations were going mental about this, anyway, turns out it was a whined up and the actual suits are still in a cupboard at Team GB HQ

*Cav said hes up for getting back on the track for next Olympics if hes selected
