On Intel Raptor Lake, any truth to the rumors that disabling all e-cores hurts single threaded performance of the p-cores??

Intel are lacking compared to TSMC. After all, the 3d cache is all TSMC.

They don't really care about AMD, if they can get their nodes back in order - their CPU design is much better.

Intel live in the real world and have talked about how far behind AMD they are. Intel have been reasonably open about the size of the challenge they face. That says a lot when it’s coming from a company well known for its culture of over promising and failing to deliver.

I don't really pay attention to who said what. Im just seeing the results. Without TSMC's 3d cache technology, zen 4 can barely compete with alderlake in games - thats on a far inferior node. MT performance is also an easy intel win on most price points - and efficiency has Intel written all over it with the T line of CPU's being the most efficient out of the box - by far. And let's not talk about idle or light load power draw, where zen 4 draws 3-4-5 times as much power for doing basic tasks like browsing - working on excel's etc. Worked the full 6 hours - CPU averaged at 6.4 watts. Good luck hitting that with zen 4.

iv noticed the same with zen3, idle power consumption is higher than my haswell cpu in my server.

I know, my zen cpus have insanely high power draw -- and im not talking about idle. Just doing light work - it's just insane and no one mentions it. For 98% of people intel is far more efficient, cause 98% of people don't run cinebench on prime on loop for their everyday workloads.

Definitely beating Intel in gaming but I wouldn’t say killing, apart from the power consumption and efficiency metrics, then it’s a bit of a ROFL stomp.
You've no idea, do you? A 12900k consumes 110w max in the heaviest game that exists right now (the last of us!) - which is very similar to how much the 5800x 3d also consumes in this game (but with much much worse performance mind you).

No idea about the 7800x 3d, didnt have time to test it yet

I’m referring to the difference in the real world.
In the real world people browse the internet, run office applications etc, use the adobe suite (photoshop premiere etc.) and in all those tasks intel cpus are way more efficient than zen 4. Im talking about, 2-3 times as efficient. Your normal average user doesn't run cinebench on a loop sadly.

And we have chips really well suited to those tasks.

its okay will just pick game or 2 and suddenly you think they are even. most people on average play number of different games, that 7800x3d gaming effiency is in another league
You can pick your game and we can test if you are interested. I can back up everything I say with actual results :)
