On The Wagon... then in 'ere!

To me I like the taste but only the taste of trying new things, enjoying what I am drinking. I know rightly I am drinking for a relax, laugh, light headed, chilled out environment from my usual stressful life. I can quite happily sit and drink fosters beer but I prefer something nicer.

Like DJ says often its just a habbit, get in put tea on grab a beer to relax. Thats me 100%. Its finding the relax that is not beer.

Its because you still have all that booze that its obvious you don't have a probleml!

By the term "drunk" I don't mean scrabbling around sicking up everywhere... I mean the internal click in your head that you need to turn off. This drunk click is the muse for every professional drinker who drinks on a day to day basis.

That is so true. It's the hit. I am/was a booze snob, I would usually get through at least one costly bottle of cognac/scotch a week (usually over a friday and saturday evening with beers on the side). But then I would also be the guy buying tramp beer on the way home from work because I wanted to just crack open a couple of cans and zone out.

Today im having a couple of cherry colas and i'll get some sparkling water as my booze replacement for the week.

I'm also going to start being a bit more active. Yes I said it!

Oh and no, no training logs... :)

I think I will join you with this one.
Already knocked the beers in the week on the head over the last few week and I'm already committed to stoping the cigs in October, this will actually help that.

I would say I'm dependent on alcohol. I think a great number of people are but very few would admit to it.

I crave alcohol pretty much all the time, and when I get home it's great and I can physically and mentally feel myself improve as soon as it's in the system.

Do I have any intention of limiting my intake? No. Do I want to? Not really. Could I? Definitely not.

Good luck for those who are trying, as I've seen all sides of alcoholism, but it's just not something that I'm prepared to try at the moment.

5% 500ml cans
also a heavy smoker, roll-ups with no filter and i eat junk food 24/7... help meh :(
That's what we are all trying to do mate, and for each other :)

One step at a time...

I really should give up alcohol for a bit but as it's my birthday in a few weeks and I also have a ton of homebrew to get through I might hold off for a little bit...

Just count down a little, everything helps :)

No point twisting your arm after that lot :(

thats fair enough, tbh my stance on smoking reads just like that, its one vice i dont think i could lose :/

I can see where you're coming from with this. I definitely still have issues with drinking too much but they are less bad than they were even a year ago. It has been a very gradual reduction with quite large ups and downs.

Just count down a little, everything helps :)

Yup. That's what I've been doing but I think I need to accelerate it a little. After mid October :)

I've never understood smoking but then again I know that people that don't use alcohol as a crux "oh I'm stressed - I'll have a beer to relax" almost certainly don't understand how tempting alcohol can be. Everyone has their vices.

Bought a Britis water filter jug about a couple of months ago stopped drinking wine and beer then' managed to lose some more weight has well, happy days
