'On yer bike' says Boris...

How so? I think it's more a eating too many calories kind of thing.
you get fatter as you get older, due to changing metabolism, less sexual attraction requirements, and less sport/activity

This is a natural process, and we really don't need the Nanny State telling us what to eat/drink.

Then how is taxing bad food going to help?

If a fatty wants a donut, they'll buy one. Will they care it costs a few pence more?!

Taxing bad food puts additional funds in the pocket of the NHS to treat the results of obesity. Additionally, many people operate on a fixed budget for food. If that donut costs twice as much they ain't gonna buy it.

All of that factually inaccurate. Well done!

The NHS gets far too much tax money already - it's not there to bail out people who make dumb lifestyle choices.

Are you telling me then that you get more attractive as you get older, and more in need of pulling a chick/guy at the nightclub for a one-nighter?

I'm telling you that everything you wrote in that post is rubbish. Believe it or not, no matter the age people find others sexually attractive. Typically in a similar age range whether 15 or 85.
Libido may decrease but attraction doesn't.

What?! This is due to being lazy, not a natural fact of getting older.

There are PLENTY of cyclists in my club who are well north of 60, some much older than that, and they ride a lot (due to being retired)
Just to add to this, here is a 70 year old man that runs marathons in under 3 hours. That is an average of 6 mins 50 second mile.

I've put weight on while in lock down :o Will have to get back in to an exercise regime as I pretty much stopped but kept eating the same.

Surprised at how bad having some extra weight makes you feel though, people who are properly obese must feel awful in terms of energy levels.

Isn't that the 'vicious cycle' crap they bang on about. I'm sad because I'm fat, and I eat because I'm sad etc. Not that I have any sympathy whatsoever! I honestly feel a bit sick when I see huge people. You have one life, and you've just ruined it shovelling food in your gob.

and what kind of person blames the government for being too fat. A fairly lame one if you ask me!

This can be applied to most things in life but we have a society that has been told that nothing is their fault. Overweight? Its a disease and its probably not your fault because you have a slow metabolism, its hard to eat healthily, its expensive to eat healthily etc.

The truth is that for 95% or more of people, their weight issues are entirely their own fault and not due to anything other than laziness and greed. The problem is that the NHS is duty bound to treat these people at massive expense to the country. Thats why the government needs to get involved in tackling obesity. I honestly couldn't give a single **** if people want to be overweight and unhealthy but I do care when I am paying for their treatment through my taxes.

I don't like the nanny state but I like paying for the ***** of society even less.
