One hundred pushups

Just started following this routine on monday, from day 1 week 1 column 3. Me and a couple of mates at work have a little bet on, we have given ourselves 2 months to see by the end who can do the most push ups in one go. So far I can barely get out 20!

I find the 5 sets quite difficult, especially by the time I'm on the last set. Just about managed day 1 week 1 which at first looked v easy!

My aim is to hit 80+ in one go by the end.

Theres a lot of different ways of doing push ups. It all depends on the direction and postions of your hands/ shoulders, for example your hands facing outwards will work on the muscles across your back.

Sit ups are more effective if you do crunches. I do a hundred crunches everynight and its a much better workout than tradional sit ups.

Probably shouldn't do it every night to be honest, maybe every other night or so. Give yourself time to recover.

Can do 50 in one go. The pain in my wrists and hands is the main barrier I think.

I can already do about 150 situps though, so the 200 situp challenge might be worth a go. I need to get into shape for my wedding in september anyway.

Well I've just done day 2 across the board.

I found it easier to physically complete the reps/sets today compared to Monday but as I was still aching from Monday, each rep hurt like buggery.

Just had to push through it I found it easier, it just hurt more.

Long time since ive done a push up, well i tried it 14.

Don't know about 100, i'll try it see how it goes can only get better.

100 does seem pretty high, I've never at any point been able to break past the 50 barrier, although I've never tried sticking to a fixed routine like this one so we will see...

Just one more day and im done with the first week. Its been pretty easy, its just the aching thats been more annoying than anything. Although i did my sets last night and feel absolutely fine today. Ive also been resting longer if ive had any kind of pain that will bother me during push ups.

Most I managed was 76 on the RAF fitness test. It would be quite hard to hit 100 I reckon.

That was in a minute.

Just done my first day, I got 21 on the initial test so skipped to week 3 like it suggests. I found the 2nd column too tough though so had to drop down to the first column and just about scraped by.

Did more today and I was so sore I could bearly do more than 5 sets of 10. :(

Not to worry though, as I've met all the requirements for week two, so I'll just restart week three next week! :p

Did 3 sets of 20 then a set of 15 last night (75 total). It was my abs which were tired, not my arms. Not tried doing more than 20 in a row, definitely couldn't do 100.

I need something to keep myself from turning all gooey over the summer holidays so I'm going to give this a go. I'll do the initial test tomorrow, it's a bit late for it now.
